    Who's got lathes?

Picked up my first lathe recently. 1960’s ish South Bend 9A. Could use a good cleaning all over, but doesn’t look like it’s ever been repainted or beat up too much. But then again, I’m new to this so who knows? It came with a bunch of extras that will keep me busy for a long time. ...now I’m...

    Reed 2c vise

On my beat up 2C I have, the ring with the grooves, had to be gently tapped counter clockwise and unscrewed. The whole ring rotates around and out. Make sure you remove the set screw on the side.. Pretty sure there is one there. Hope that helps.

    Help Identifying Bench Grinder

Let’s see if anyone can identify this Grinder, or give me some clues on where to start. Picked it up at an auction because it was bulky and had to have it, probably weighs nearly 100lbs. Trying to figure out from the shape what it might be, any ideas on how to determine HP/Amps etc? Thanks!

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Picked up this older Delta Grinder. It looks like a Triple Duty but doesn't have the Triple Duty Label. Also - any idea if the green color is original or has been repainted? Most I see are grey.

    Help with old files/rasps

Been needing some extra files and came across this lot. Probably about 75+ of all sizes in the pile. Issue is they are all pretty rusty but seem to be lightly used. Is there a relatively easy way to restore them? Do I just use them as is? Throw them all in a bucket of Evaporust? Any...

    Show me your ANVIL

Got my first anvil! It's a small one but not too sure about info on it. I tried to post a picture. I can see what I think is Manufacturing and the numbers 21. Anyone have any ideas? Seems to be in pretty good condition otherwise.

    Show off your DOE's!

It took me a little bit to figure out what a DOE was.... think I got it figured. Here is an older (no clue how old) Williams. About 19 inches long. Pretty hefty.

The Unofficial Vise Parts Swap Thread.

I've got a complete Reed 2C that I'm parting out. I believe everything is in good shape except the dynamic jaw that has a big weld, also means that one of the pipe jaws is welded in. The other is good though! Let me know if anyone has a need for parts.

    2018 Garage Sale Thread

Picked up this BFW (Big F****** Wrench) up today for a few bucks. Anyone know what they were used for? I found a catalog online from Billings from 1948 that lists it as an “Engineer” wrench. Nearly 4 feet long with a 5” opening. Has to weigh at least 40+ pounds. High Torque Wrench in picture for...

REED R Series. Post your Reed date stamps.

Went to check out my 205R but couldn’t see any stamps. Will have to try and move it into better light some other time. Took a look at the minty 124 I have and easily could see 130 stamped into it. As well as the number 9 that was further up. Really thing it was from 1930?

Picked up an older Walker & Turner grinder/sander. I don't really see too much info on them.
