1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

Got the grinder cleaned up and wired. Painted the base with the recommended Rustolium paint and put a repo switch cover on. The cover is period correct even if the base isn’t. I’ll keep an eye out for the correct base but I am satisfied with the one I have. I’m pleased with how it turned...

@Ryan_340 ***** for the vise! Found an unmarked tool box to rummage through at an antique store today. Found a rusted knife that I thought was an old western. Man at the counter said $2. Why not. My son is ten and has been wanting a fixed blade. After a little cleaning my assumption was...

I put in some work cleaning the grinder up. I disassembled it down to the base and motor and scrubbed it with some Dawn and water. When I got tired of scrubbing I hit it with some wax to keep the bare metal at bay. I am missing one bolt. It’s one of the 3/8 fine thread bolts that goes to the...

Looks good! Bringing the spare parts home at the same time was a blessing.

@Hoorn the grinder runs smooth and the lights do work. Well one bulb on each side works. I think the bulbs are blown. The wiring to the lights has been replaced at some point. The main power cord looks to be original. I don't think the grinder has ever been apart. Based off the pictures the PO...

Picked these up last weekend. The Rapid Tap bottles are unopened. The SO impact set is missing one socket but otherwise looks unused. The 98-4 looks brand new. It’s odd because the shop they came out of looked more like the clamp and vise grips. I even flushed out a few mice while rummaging...

Next project for the shop. The base is off of a later Rockwell grinder. It will do until I can find the correct one. I’ll clean up the paint on the grinder and then decide if I’ll paint it or keep it original. I’ll at least paint the base. My first paper serial number tag.

Definitely talented! I've been trying to find a belt sander like you have. I've only seen a few and none with that base.

Welding my trailer - Do I need to disconnect lights etc?

Weld away. No worries for the lights. Ground as close as you can if your concerned.

    $48,000 Snap-On Socket Set?!?

We have a 2 1/2" drive impact at work. I've known it to have been used a handful of times. Definitely a last resort but it still has its place. Hytorc's get the most use when it comes to the larger stuff. Bad part is we have two sets of sockets. One for the impact only and the Hytorc has its own...

Can anyone help me with the identification of this vintage/antique tool?

Looks like it could take the plugs out of a 55 gallon drum.

Mike you’re guilty for influencing my new shop clock and now I’m reading you have been looking at the same stool I have been thinking about. I’m sure this will have the same influence as the clock. Oh well, this is what overtime is for anyway.

Swung by the pawn shop and came away with a like new Metabo grinder. Not a common brand to find around here. Definitely a useful addition to the shop.
