HI-VIZ Colored Contact Lenses from Snap-on

In one of those videos a while back the driver explained his daughter picks them out for him, she also paints his fingernails different colors as well. Weird dude, but I've heard dealing with us mechanics all day will make you weird.

New set of screwdrivers for home shop. Same ones I've been using for years at work. 4 way screwdriver for the camper and a micro driver set for work. Decided to take a chance on a SK LP90. Ordered directly from SK, received it in 2 days. It's really nice, zero complaints so far. Will see...

jeepinerdeep's shop fab n project thread.

How do you like the Mittler Brothers brake so far? Spent a lot of time talking with those guys last week at their EAA booth. I'm seriously thinking about buying one to replace my current brake.

Made the pry bar rack for my cart. Was asked what kind of press brake I used on the spray can rack. I don't have a press brake so thought I'd show how I do stuff like this. First cut out the part. This will hold five pry bars, two 3/8" extensions and two 1/2" extensions. Then clamp it to my...

SK extra long ratcheting wrench OEM?

Well once again patience pays off. Found a NOS set on Craigslist. Also picked up my favorite SK ratchet. 3/8" drive in the extra long 1/4" body. Lost mine a while back and am glad to have another.

Actually had a little free time today so decided I'd tinker with my harbor freight cart. Keep my M12 mechanic tools in this cart so made a M12 battery rack. While I was at it made a spray can rack for the side. Some IH red spray paint. Think I'll make a prybar rack for the other...

SK extra long ratcheting wrench OEM?

Does anyone know who was the OEM was for these? Picked up the odd sizes I needed back in the day but have always wished I had bought a full set.

    Anyone have a Bridgeport rebuilt?

At my previous employer we bought/traded and had a couple mills and surface grinders rebuilt from these guys. Quality work at a competitive price. https://bridgeportmachinerebuilders.com/ You mention a machine tool "desert" and that might not be a bad thing. Last year a friend of mine in...

    Transmission/ tear down tables

We have the Handy Industries tear down table. Use it exclusively for tear down and rebuilding of smaller gearboxes. It's held up well over the years with 3 shifts of meatheads banging the hell out of it. Not sure how useful a vise would be on it unless you removed the casters.

Well Colindolye after your post a while back I went down the Fisher Celebrity rabbit hole. I have a ways to go but when I retire my short list to build was either a Baby Ace, Pixie or a Hatz. The Celebrity has now been added to the list. Have a lot of questions for the Fisher folks at Air...

Ron that's exactly what I did. Was genuinely surprised by how much better they worked compared to the standard Camco inline hose filter we've used forever. Not to derail the thread, but a funny bear story. Couple years ago we were boondocking in the mountains of Utah next to a creek. Look out...

Our spring "camping" trip was coming up and Mrs. Nc always complains about the water at this campground. So needing a break from the current projects I went to Menards and picked up a couple whole home water filters. Bent up a frame and cut a mount. The base un-pins and pins to the side...

Filling ( Welding) one side of threaded holes , use brass bolt?

Without having the part on my bench can't say with certainty. But I would use a rod as a backer rather than a bolt. The hole is going to shrink a little, will be easier to get the rod out than fighting stuck threads. Or cut like 2 threads off a bolt, thread the disk into the hole leaving it...
