    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

I have been following this thread for a while and recently downloaded the free version of Fusion 360 to get a better feel for this technology. Not exactly straight forward, but I am slowing figuring things out and fairly sure I successfully modified a download from Thingiverse (adapter for my...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

After doing a couple final passes in the yard with the mower to mulch the remaining leaves, I completed the seasonal change over from mower to blower. This included some unplanned pressure washing thanks to some a**hole neighbors that are too lazy to pick up after their dogs. All set for the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

An unplanned brake job on my youngest son's car after he called in a panic with sticker shock of a shop's quote. After getting that knocked out, got back to my to do list and installed the 2nd of 2 new belt drive garage door openers... which include a lot of profanity trying to program the...

    Garage Opener going bad?

I just had the same thing happen to one of my 2 Chamberlain's (which are also 15 years old) and was able to fix it by maxing out the up torque adjustment. Although it seemed to be working ok, I decided to proactively do an upgrade with a pair of new Genie belt drives after seeing a great deal...

Expensive week. But all were put to use the last couple days starting with the new pin nailer as it worked great for installing some thin trim in my basement remodel at the rental. I also just tried out the Veritas honing guide and Scary Sharp Sharpening kit on an old wood chisel and quickly...

A nice little Stanley 60-1/2 plane. Aside from a quick clean up the blade adjustment screw, it worked like new.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My 15 year old garage door openers are starting to show their age and after having to max out the up force on the main door opener to get it fully close, I proactively pulled the trigger on a pair of new belt drives. I installed the first one last night and man does it run quiet compared to the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Sanded, primed and painted a window bench seat for our kids place that we built last weekend. Learned a lot on this project as it is one of the most complex things I ever built with wood. Also used my spray guns for the first time. Lots to learn in that area, but not bad for a bit of a hack...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Helped my SIL build a window bench seat for their house. The hard part is done as we just need to trim and router the lid, then sand, prime and paint. And yet once again, a GJ induced purchase of a new tool (Festool track saw) made this project much easier!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

We came home last night and the garage door would not close. After some investigation this morning, the flashing light interval pointed to the reverse sensors. After a little troubleshooting, I found a bad connection coming off one the sensors. A small wiggle of the wire where it leaves the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Checked off a dreaded job and painted 200 feet of baseboard. Man do I hate painting.

After cleaning and putting away tools from some work at the rental, installed a Bluetooth speaker system on my BIL’s Indian bike.

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Finally got around to finishing the clean up of this deluxe cast iron base I picked up a couple months ago. Now I need to find another project grinder to mount on it :bounce:

Pratt Read drivers at Menards - almost gone!

I picked up 1 of 2 remaining US sets of the super stubby screwdrivers. I have an older CM slot version that gets used a lot, so having the phillips version should come in handy.

    The (unsexy) Washer/ Drier Thread . . .

After 2 front loader washing machines lasted 9 years combined, I bought a basic mechanical SQ top loader. I was told it was the last model year before some of the changes started (think it was in '16 or '17). It was refreshing to follow the selling store's advice to search on YT for the simple...
