Diamand grinding is always preferred over acid, but if your floor is not sealed, acid is a perfectly acceptable way to profile the concrete. Let me know if you want pricing for a bulk order of epoxy.

All you have to do is rough up the area around the perimeter of the repair. Do you have any leftover material to repair with? If it's my product give me a call.

If you use a polyurea product, make sure you apply multiple thin coats. Thicker coats can cloud.

Ambient Temp is not as important as the concrete temp as stated above. I know lots of people that have done this by themselves. As long as you have a prepared work station set up, most epoxy's have you working in batch sizes that are manageable by 1 person. The lower temps also will give you...

The concrete should feel like 100-120 grit sandpaper when your done. Baking soda will not affect the drying, just the neutralizing. Enough water used during the rinsing will neutralize it also. The phosphoric acid we supplied will not smell like the muriatic acid, but should have done the job.

The best way is to diamond grind. This will act twofold, it will remove the existing sealer and profile your concrete for any coating you will be applying.

I always recommend if you want a black floor, it needs a clear coat. That way the scratches won't show as much and it will loo a bit cleaner. Truth is, black is a VERY hard color to keep clean looking.

Some acids will help wick up contaminants. I would never recommend it as a degreaser by any means, but it can help.

You may eventually have a lifting issue. If the epoxy wouldn't lay down, the chances of a contaminant are pretty good. Is this spot in a a heavily traveled area?
