pawn shop people arent stupid. heck, they know more than they let on. i just ask for a price and if it is what im willing to pay - great. if not, i thank them and move on.

Anyone having issues with the older estwing leather handles? they look great new, but after a while they start to crack and become unsalvageable. makes things worse that estwing arent allowed to sell the leather bits for a repair.

price of things over this side of the world is crazily expensive, i end up buying anything mailable and non perishable from overseas (mainly USA). also means i can buy stuff not available locally.

not a chance. no costco over here in perth (australia). :( the only way to get my hands on them would be to have someone ship them to me from the US, but shipping is a killer. (estimated to be $400-500)

hell, even when i work on my car on the weekends, i cannot stand a cheap ratchet. after using a snap on one for about 10 seconds i was hooked, i was also quickly unhooked when i saw the price :( i am now aiming to get a preowned one, so hopefully it wont break the budget as much.

If you like it, go for it. $5k isnt that much compared to retail, and if you parted out/got sick of it, you probably wont lose out on much

Give me a metal handle anyday. those plastic handles make it feel cheap and not to mention they do not last as long as the original metal handles.
