I own both the 11 in 1 and the 10 in 1 and can say that the 10 in 1 is far superior. It is a tighter fit, the 11 in 1 is too bulky for my taste, I do find the 11 in 1 excellent for hose clamps however. The old Klein handles really were the best, new ones don't like em.

You choose to purchase the Chinese nuts and tape. I use 3m super 88 made in USA, and Ideal wire nuts USA, thanks. You have your opinion about products I have my own. The issue is the poor QC around those products, why chance it.

Get an adapter with a pin anvil. 1 1/8 is very common size in industrial, would be very versatile to have a 3/8s. However, I also work ind. maint and I almost never carry my 3/8s around anymore. I use my Dewalt impact with a 1/2 anvil but I have the QD impact driver.

I've damaged many average non reversing ratchet wrenches at work using them to break bolts loose, no they cannot take that same abuse. They end up freezing and skipping under load.

Try the soldering idea posted above, that may be your best bet. As others have said it appears the center lobe is not engaging correctly. The gears look really good.

Interesting tool, never used them in my day I preferred Channelocks to remove nails due to the head shape allowing leverage similar to the plier above.

13mm seems to have a high failure rate across all brands in 3/8 I have noticed.
