    Ceiling Fans in Garage

I just realized how big that fan is that I posted the link to. That'd be too big for my space, but I like that brushed industrial look.

    Ceiling Fans in Garage

Thanks guys. Here's the fan that I have my eye on. I'll probably do two of them. http://www.homedepot.com/buy/lighting-fans-fans-ceiling-fans-indoor-ceiling-fans/hampton-bay-industrial-60-in-brushed-steel-indoor-ceiling-fan-170061.html

    Ceiling Fans in Garage

I'm thinking about putting one or two ceiling fans in my garage above where my most used work space will be. Anybody else done this and is it worth it, or should I just get a free standing High Velocity fan to move around where I need it.

Old 18 Garage - Build Thread

Thanks, bugnout. I probably wouldn't have done the brick face if the house didn't have it, but we're trying to have the garage match the house as much as possible. The only think I'm concerned about is attaching things to it on the interior, but that shouldn't be any more of a problem than if...

Old 18 Garage - Build Thread

Tuesday we poured the walls and I stripped them yesterday. We also started dropping in the gravel before we pour the floor and laid tile around the base of the walls. The rest of the work has just been picking up the jobsite for the next round of work. We hope to pour the floor on Monday...

    Stamping and Staining Concrete

Ok - We're planning to dye the concrete then. Does dyed concrete need any additional maintenance?

    Stamping and Staining Concrete

Just to clarify, the staining I'm talking about is the type that is mixed in with the wet concrete. Does that still need sealed like you guys are talking about? We're now leaning toward not stamping, but using the dyed concrete. I've heard that the stamped stuff can also be slippery when wet...

    Stamping and Staining Concrete

Thanks guys. It sounds like a good price but I'm not sure if I want to deal with sealing it and not being able to blow the snow off.

    Stamping and Staining Concrete

I'm just beginning to check into having the new sidewalk we'll be pouring stamped and stained. I've been quoted $5 per square foot, including labor and concrete, but not including the bag of stuff to dye the concrete. Does that sound reasonable? Is the end result worth the extra cost? This...

Old 18 Garage - Build Thread

We got 4" of rain Friday night. It put a damper on setting wall forms, which we had planned on doing Saturday morning. As of Saturday morning: And on Sunday: Despite the muddy mess, we went ahead and set wall forms yesterday and will be pouring the walls tomorrow morning.

Cutting down tree that's going through utility lines

See if the Cable company will do it. I work for one and if we knew a customer was potentially going to drop a tree that had our lines in it we'd at least come out with the boom truck and trim to the point that it should come down clear of the cable. If they won't come do it, then I'd suggest...

And even though he'll never see it on here, thank God for my father in law. He's the one you see in a lot of the pics. He does construction for a living and is helping me out for only beer and gas. Although the way we drink beer sometimes it might be better if I paid him hourly! ;) Thank you...

Old 18 Garage - Build Thread

This morning we were able to form and pour the footings. I'm sure to most of you this isn't any big deal... We had a storm move through tonight after I stripped the footings and started dropping wall forms in the hole. We hope to form the walls Saturday and pour those Tuesday.

    Storing tires in the attic?

I'm assuming they'll be stored mounted on wheels/rims? If so, I might let some of the air out just to make sure they don't build too much pressure. They get real hot when driving so they'll be able to stand the heat in an attic.
