Because I will be doing SOME. I could get by, but don't want to have to still borrow the FIL's or a buddy's after I bought one that doesn't do compound cuts. But, your suggestion is certainly worth thinking about.

Thanks guys. I won't be doing much finish/trim work, so based on your opinions I'll probably be ok with a budget saw. It'll be more for fencing, small projects, and use during my garage build. I'm tired of borrowing my FIL's saw.

Anybody have one you're happy with? I've looked at Rockwell and Craftsman in the stores. I'm looking to spend around $150 right now. I haven't seen any good used ones in my price range either.

Re: $25,000 is my commands (fiancee) approved limit I'm building a 26x30 in a sidehill so it'll have 4' concrete walls with 6' 2x6 studded walls above that. Building it myself, I'll have $17k in it, only missing insulation and sheetrock. That includes pouring the concrete driveway, too.
