    Planning New 30x32 2-story Garage/Shop/Office

    1) Foundation -follow Bend Pack guidelines! If you hire an engineer to evaluate concrete for a 2 post he will ask 'what are mfg requirements'? If you plan on heating/cooling I would insulate underneath the concrete as well. It's not that much more and you can only do it once. Absolutely work...

    30x40x16 Polebarn Garage

Water-thinking out of the box-this is probably not in your budget but you could bore a water line from the house to an outside trench that goes to the new building. I had this done for a drain in the basement and it was $4800 for about 40 feet to an outside drain to my field. My garage is...

    30x40x16 Polebarn Garage

    1) Radiant heat-I don't have personal experience with it but from our fellow GJ folks those that have it, love it. It makes sense to me to have a warm floor but remember it's heating mass so you just can't turn up the heat and get the building warmed up quickly. Plan to have 'heat' on all the...

Need Advice On Installing OSB To Garage Trusses

I'm in the steel liner panel group. 'Light' weight, no drywall dust, no repainting, no sag, relative ease for install, gloss for light reflectance. Just my opinion but I've never liked OSB texture even when painted.

new 40x60 dream shop: lift placement help

I like option 2, it gives you the chance to have 2 projects going, still have room to pull another vehicle in case of weather. Easier access with the angled lift instead of a hard 90.

Two lifts - 2 post and 4 post Locations?

I would think the lifts should be next to each other. That way the tool box can stay in between them and save time getting tools. I know my 2 post basically takes 1 1/2 bays so the 4 post should only take 1 bay.

New MaxJax Install Using Anchor Bolt Locations from Older Install?

I have a Triumph C7000, it's portable just like the MaxJack. Same concept just lifts higher and lower priced. Here's what I used to enlarge the holes. https://www.harborfreight.com/2-in-double-cut-genuine-solid-carbide-burrs-4-piece-56405.html Would definitely make a template. I tried painting...

New MaxJax Install Using Anchor Bolt Locations from Older Install?

You can always enlarge the holes on the columns to match the holes in the floor. At 5-6mm that's easily fixed with the washer from the kit.

Should I get mobile column lifts over a 2 post? Unique garage dimensions

https://liftswholesale.com/2-post/triumph-c7000-7000-lb-portable-2-post-lift/ I couldn't see the height of your ceiling. These columns are just under 8ft. This will NOT work for your F350 and your F250 diesel would be pushing it for weight. I originally had 8' ceilings and splurged on the...

Lifting Sunken Concrete Repair Types ?

Had the left bay of my garage jacked at least 15 years ago and still no movement. It didn't need to move much to make it level maybe an inch? I would do it again. If I remember right it was in the $700 range but again 15 yrs ago. Local well known company.

    Older KD torque wrench

Do you know you're not supposed to keep a torque wrench at a 'permanent' setting? Once done with them you should release the torque back down to 10 or less. It has to do with the tension on the springs inside.

    28 x 40 x 16 pole barn ceiling insulating ?

What's the truss spacing 24" or 48"? For that size building and going inexpensive your main options are fiberglass or installing metal panels and blow in cellulose. I doubt you have a Menards but they do make a 4' wide roll...

    3/8” or 1-2” cordless impact ?

I would stick with the 1/2". I've never heard of anyone complaining about too much oomph to get a nut loose. If you really need a smaller size maybe a power ratchet in 3/8"?

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT A new lease on life: 30x40 schoolhouse conversion

Like kjmustang said get rid of the bats. They will $h!t all over everything, wood rot, plus any poo disease. I've had them in my barn and still struggle to keep them out. They ruined the paint on a car I had in there for just 2 weeks. If you can install a bat house outside somewhere close...

    Long/Low Profile needle nose pliers

Just thinking outside the box. Would a magnet work or is it plastic? How about the cheap plastic drain snake? Stuck enough you need pliers/hemostat?

    8 or 9ft garage door? 30x32x10h.

    1) What's your tallest vehicle you anticipate to drive in? 2) Any tractors/industrial equipment that are tall? I have 1 tractor I can't drive into the garage because the exhaust cap will catch the top header/door but mine's only 7ft. The Durango fits in fine but 8ft I would be golden...

    Battery chainsaw

I never thought I would buy a battery powered chainsaw but the Bauer mini-saw from HF has been a joy to use. Extremely handy in cutting honeysuckle brush. I doubt the battery is the same.
