Rodent proof garage door bottom seal

I treat the perimeter of my buildings with fox pee (sold as a deer hunting scent), others use peppermint oil. Here is one option for the seal...

Where Can I Get These Electrical Connectors?

Digikey, Mouser, Newark. It may be difficult to find a preinsulated terminal with the strain relief crimp. I'd use heat shrink. Ferrules aren't hard to find but that one looks like a portion of a terminal.

What do I need to drill into this steel?

Too low of RPM is better than to fast, only downside is that it takes a little longer to drill the hole. Even if RPM is known and controlled you still have feed rate to consider.

    Portable Generator Gas Cap

To improve your chances see if some of the E-bay ads include dimensions or picture that would allow you to estimate. Maybe you can find a snowmobile to check to see if yours fits. There is also a chance that if it doesn't fit you may get lucky and be able to swap parts and repair yours. If the...

Little to no cold water in bathroom

Strange that it happens at certain times and would be multiple fixtures. Occasionally plumbing work will dislodge scale or other debris from inside pipes. Usually will plug (maybe partially) aerators but could cause issues with mixing valves. Happened with my shower. I was able to flush it by...

Difference between distilled and deionized water for auto use?

Deionized is slightly better than distilled for batteries. I don't know if the difference would be noticeable. Slightly worse than distilled for coolant because it is a little more reactive/corrosive can leach ions from metals especially with aluminum. Again I don't know that if the difference...

how many sharpenings can you get out of a chainsaw chain?

I've got some older chains (and a bar) that I'll put on for stumps or other tasks that are likely to damage the chain. No idea how many times I've sharpened them (probably 30-40). When sharp they work fine on small soft trees (mostly willows). I barely notice the difference from a new or freshly...

Do I need a temp supporting wall?

I'd put in a temporary post. Taking out 2 9' doors and adding in a header You will be reframing (rebuilding) the front wall. Why not go with a standard 16' or even an 18' wide door?

How crazy is moving a custom built carport?

How deep are the posts and how were the holes filled? My approach would be to park a hay rack (or similar trailer) in it. Add braces to keep the poles vertical and the structure square. Use a post hole digger along the poles then jack the whole thing up. Then support it on the rack. No...

Looking for a good all around battery charger for shop use

I like my Pro-logix charger. It does 2, 10 or 20 amps on various battery types and also has a boost feature for jump starting. I like that it has a % of charge monitor while charging and the ability to override when charging a "dead" battery.
