Skil Mag 77 vs Skil Southpaw Sidewinder. Thoughts?

Sidewinder, all day, every day! That worm drive Skil 77 will get heavy quick! Worm drive does have it's place (modified to cut concrete), but that is (about) it! There is a reason why most sidewinders now are 15 amps with thin kerf blades!

    Cub Cadet Mowers Any Good?

Get an older IH Cub or one of the older MTD "cyclops" cubs with low hours, or an MTD cub 3000 series! Let me add my $0.02 cents about the Kohler Courage engines.....................garbage, avoid at all cost!!!

    Armstrong Chinese torque wrench

Depending on the model, that Hyundai that he was proud of was probably assembled in Montgomery, AL or West Point, GA (a Kia plant plant that assembles the Hyundai derivatives of a Kia vehicle)!

The Sordid Past of Harbor Freight Tools (this is NOT an HF bash thread!!!)

Appreciate the background info on the origins of HF! Anyway, back in the day, I did order a Makita drill, an AEG jigsaw, and a B&D Construction RO sander from HF that was shipped from Kentucky! Now, if you wanted to purchase some REAL ******** back then, all you had to do was wait for the...

    Considering chordless nailer need help

Since I already had Ridgid 18V tools and batteries, when I was home in Georgia for the holidays, I stopped by Direct Tools Outlet. They had the brushless 16 gauge Ridgid for 50 bucks (reconditioned, but it looked brand new other than being marked "RECON"). I like it, works well, heavy, but for...

    Wormstyle vs Hypoid Saw

Dammit, I'm getting old and forgot to add this to my earlier statements. The ONLY worm drive saw that we were absolutely crazy about was the old Rockwell/Porter Cable 314 trim saws...................but it was a specialized piece of equipment, and you literally had to lock that saw up or crooks...

    Wormstyle vs Hypoid Saw

You're talking to a person whose father owned a construction company and we had to use a saw day in and day out, and trust me, that worm drive saw gets heavy REAL quick, plus we had B&D Super Sawcats that did everything we asked of them, and then some! We turned that worm drive into a dedicated...

Yep, those! Other than the selector and a cutout underneath, they look "almost" identical.

    Best Ratchet Wrenches?

That Facom wrench looks just like the wrenches in the Toptul set that I purchased from Dennis a while back. Works well.

    Holy **** harbor freight....

    79 bucks with a coupon (the ratchet), 19 bucks for a battery. 60 ft-lbs. torque. ****, I'll freely admit I'm tempted..................

Bostitch wrenches: Is this Proto design?

As Fedwrench and retDAC said, yes, a Proto copy. I have the DeWalt combos, and your Bostitch clones look more "lobster claw-ish" than the DeWalts! The package looks the same as the DeWalts too! Anyway, for 10 bucks, you made out like a bandit!!!

Triton power tools, belt sander in particular. Any good?

I have the Ridgid version that looks just like this (with minor variations) that was discontinued. I am happy with it. Oh, I also have a Triton Router too!

Can a Track Saw Replace a Table Saw?

I finally gave in and purchased a track saw (well, the Grizzly mini track saw) last year. Can a track saw replace a table saw, not really. There ARE things that each does well, and you might believe that one can replace the other...........until you encounter the situation where it doesn't...
