    More Batteries or More Chargers?

Informal survey: For cordless tools, what is your "ideal" mix of batteries and chargers? For example, I've worked jobs where outlets weren't available, so I had to have a bunch of batteries ready to go for the day, but could fast-charge the batch overnight easily enough with just a pair of...

Build Detached Garage or Buy Commercial Building?

Consider your tool situation as well. I've done the "garage on a different property" thing myself, and ended up spending quite a bit on duplicate tools, just so that I wouldn't have to haul all of my tools back and forth, or drive out to the garage shop every time I needed a wrench for a...

    My Garage STINKS !

Something tells me that if the garage is closed up, and STILL smells like gasoline from 125 feet away, you're not going to want a candle anywhere near that!!:FIREdevil:willy_nil :D

Feit Electric T8 LED Fixtures at Costco

Did you order them online, or have they hit the stores now? Also, were they on sale still/again, or regular price?

    Saved from the dump

Every place I have lived, the transfer stations all have strict rules and all kinds of signage prohibiting items from being taken. :( It ***** to see so much repairable or usable stuff go for scrap just because someone else didn't want it. I'm assuming these policies are for...

Help w/ Metal Plate for in floor scissor jack

How about temporarily filling it in with crushed rock? It would be a bit more work to dig it back out (putting a tarp down first before you fill it would help)... But you wouldn't have to worry about a metal plate shifting around when you drive over it.

Help Me Find What I'm Looking For...

Is lifting actually a requirement? Or do you only need to move the load? If you don't need to lift to that 24" height, just grab some heavy duty rods/rollers and go old-school.

    Dremel 8220-1/28 12-Volt Max Cordless Rotary Tool $74.99 @Amazon.

Aside from the deal ($99 tool for $75), is the Dremel 8220 a good buy? Reviews for the 8220 itself are generally very good (4.5/5 stars on Amazon, etc). But misc reviews on forums seem to give the nod to other tools... Milwaukee 2460 M12 in particular. However, sharing batteries with other...

Indirect Uplighting in a Garage or Shop?

Has anyone here lit their garage/shop with a majority of the light being indirect lighting or uplighting? You see this style of lighting all the time in offices, schools, libraries, retail, etc... and I've always thought it was a pleasant way to light a large area evenly without the glare of...

Feit Electric T8 LED Fixtures at Costco

Plus the cost of the fixture! I've purchased three small batches of these now, at three different prices... Even at their "high" price I've thought these were a great purchase.

No anti skid in dry environment?

Floors don't have to be wet to be slippery... (Sawdust and other dry buildup can be a hazard on smooth floors.)

Feit Electric T8 LED Fixtures at Costco

Are those new at your store? My previous store (Wisconsin) before I moved has had both of them for a long time (months?), so I wouldn't think the LED retrofit tubes are the replacement for the integrated lights... Just a separate product? :dunno: I picked up another batch of the sale-priced...

grass drive way systems-- any experiences here?

Whoops! I thought that was just on my end. I changed the picture to a link. I would think that drainage would be great with something like this... (or Turfstone, or any of the other options.). The only thing I wonder about... What happens in the winter? Do you just scrape across...

    Bedroom Workshop flooring

I was in the same situation in a rental apartment years ago. I needed the work space, but everything was carpeted. The only idea I had was to take sheets of plywood and drill a grid of holes part way through, then glue wood dowels in place. The idea was that you could then flip it over, have...

grass drive way systems-- any experiences here?

I've been looking into these myself... not for forklifts, but as an option to gain some grass back on a house with a 3-car garage and associated driveway stuffed into a small backyard. I'd love to do something like this: (edit: and a picture of the final product, with the grass...
