I was thinking on going this route, until I contacted the insurance company.. In my case the unit needs to be CSA approved, installed at least 50' from the home or garage in order to maintain insurance on those building.. The furnace itself would not be insured for fire :wtf:

I just had this conversation with my building inspector. I didn't need a fire retardant, but I do need a "thermal barrier". He indicated steel, drywall, plywood or OSB would be fine

Not sure I'm a fan of drywall. When checking out a few homes last year I noticed some stand alone garages with little black spots coming through the drywall. Look like mold to me. :wtf: I think I have the insulation covered.. R50 Ceiling, R20+ walls (foam), R10 below the floor 1/2 inch plywood...

Thanks for the input Electrical fees here with the extras , Delivery charges, Regulatory charges, Debt retirement charges, and taxes works out to 18 cents KWH. Then we get a 10% credit called Clean Energy Benefit :eyecrazy: :sad:

Looking at putting pex in my 28X40 shop 12 foot walls. One supplier recommends the pex be a 9" centers (6 runs), another says 12" is fine (4 runs). Floor will be insulated to R10, walls R20, one large door 12X10 R16 one man door, no windows (6" slab) Do I go with 9" or 12" Second question...
