Ok ,thanks. Found the same logo on a wrench listed on ebay. Description says Dowidat and Mercedes-Benz, not sure how accurate.

Anyone recognize this logo? It is on a 30mm-24mm doe wrench. Looks like a W / B with a triangle in between the 2 letters. It is stamped 'Germany' as well. My attempts with Google have been unsuccessful. Closest find was Whitman & Barnes but doesn't really match and figure it would be marked...

Outofbounds, thanks for your help. The boxes do look very similar. I remember reading something about the trays with a hole were so an oiler could be carried and possibly the shape of the reinforcements on the corners was a tip off to the manufacturer. Any tips on clean up and preservation?

Recently bought a set of ratcheting combo (non flexhead) from Capri. The satin finish looks good and is a little "grippier" in the hand than full polish. Only used a few times so far but I am happy with the set.

Great work and write up, thanks for sharing. I like the idea of sanding and polishing instead of repainting, I will try that next time.

Good thread, lots of info. Looking at either Blackhawk or Proto standard length reversible combo wrench. I called Proto directly and was told both are made in Taiwan. Price difference is about $30. Will be used frequently for property management company. Any reason to pick one over the other...
