    Generator - In Storage

My april fool's joke on myself today was to purchase a small Honda generator. (YES I know it's more expensive than the competition. I wanted the clean waveform for potentially running computer and radio.) Question is this: If I plan to not use it for months at a time, what's the best way to...

Hand Tool Service & Warrantee Satisfaction SURVEY

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MMQXCQD I had a lot of help with this one. I'm not terribly familiar with service & warrantee issues so I appreciate the help. The options to the questions were suggested by the forum members. If you don't see an option here you want, then you must have missed the...

Gearing Up for Warrantee & Service Survey - Is Your Brand Here?

Next survey will be regarding satisfaction with warrantee and service for hand tools from main brands. Prefer to test MAIN brands, not every possible brand. However, if your favorite brand is missing, let me know NOW, before I post the survey in an upcoming thread. Complaining that your brand is...

What should Bolster's next survey be about?

So I had to reactivate my SurveyMonkey account for a client, and while it's live, may as well use it to pick up some tool data. You've already seen my Wrench Brand survey, and my currently running Ratchet Brand survey. What should my next survey look at? Give me some ideas. May as well use my...

    Bonneys in Buckets

Went to a swap meet near Huntington Beach last weekend and was shocked to see these new Bonney metrics in buckets...started salivating...usually large numbers mean cheap prices. As I'm picking out a set I ask how much. "Teen dollars." I asked "Ten dollars for how many?" He said "Teen dollars por...

Bolster Catches a Vibe, Takes a Tumble...

I promosed Bull, a year ago, that I'd publish some photos of tools restored with a vibratory polisher. So this weekend I headed to a Los Angeles mexi-mart and picked up <$40 of tools for the project... - a sweet little Snap-on box, for which I overpaid (could not help myself - $30), - a...

    Survey Results: Wrench Popularity

Thanks to the 158 GJers who've taken the Wrench Popularity Poll since 2009. That's a very respectable sample size. With this much data, we have a relatively stable view of what the GJ population (and perhaps tool nuts in general) are most and least interested in buying. This data is useful...

Tired of lugging full size combos, please suggest stubbies...

In my "away" box I have a set of full size Combo wrenches (it's my backup Pebble Plomb set). That box is getting awfully heavy. I would like to replace the full size combos with a set of stubby (non ratcheting) combos. I am looking for a brand that's in the middle of the "cost-to-performance"...

Face in the Dirt All Day. Need a Special Cap.

Anchored at home all day due to a sick kid, I thought I'd do something nice for the wife. She's been having internet problems at her desk and we narrowed down the problem to likely a bad ethernet cable running under the house. (Decided to run ethernet to the kid's room at the same time). So I...
