I just started using a Tinner's hammer instead of a ball pein for certain metalworking tasks and I've taken a real liking to this particular one. Re-handled with a vintage handle.

These came in an auction box lot. The shaft points are very sharp. They appear to be well made, but for light duty.

I guess it's a clamp but what would it be used for? I'm thinking an industrial application. And has anyone seen a four character patent number before? I don't believe I have.

No markings and appears to be quite old.

Anyone know anything about his hammer? Maker, era, type?

Is this a vintage welder's hammer? If not, what is it? Do you know who made it? It's 9 inches long and about 32 ounces. Perhaps the nine indicates the lenghth and the 24 indicates the head weight in ounces. Trademark looks like a C with an H superimposed on it. Thanks in advance.

I was told it was a flooring hammer but it doesn't have a soft face so I'm not so sure. I've never seen another one like this, not even on-line.:confused: It comes in at about 3 lbs but has an 11 forged into it.

These are slides for 4" vises. The smaller one is for a PVC Bulldog, and the larger one is for a vise manufacturer rarely mentioned.
