    Calling the Torque Test Channel

You haven't tested what I consider to be the most useful ratchets of them all and that's the impacting air ratchet. They are powerful, small and fit places the cordless can't and best of all don't break your wrist. I know SPAir makes these, as I have two of them, and Harbor Freight either still...

Here was my Response to the Flat Rate Master's Video about Misleading Technician Ads. Tell me what you think.

We need more truth in advertising. How's this for a listing: If you’re really good we want you. Now it is true that we're total pricks, but, we have top of the line equipment and you'll make a shitload of money here because all of our customers are rich assholes that are stupid enough to buy...

Tool Nut Just sent out an Email with the new USA Milwaukee Pliers and Screwdrivers Pricing

I'M NOT IMPRESSED. The screwdrivers are priced as high or higher than Wiha and Wera but look OK. The pliers on the other hand look very CHUNKY and are priced higher than Klein and Knipex. Looks like another Eagle Grip to me. Well, maybe worse, as at least the Eagle Grip looked really nice.

Tools Where Air Power is Still Relevant

A recent post questioned whether 3/8" air impacts are still relevant. My opinion is NO. However this got me to thinking what tools exist where air power is still or the only way to go. Here's my list. Feel free to add whatever you can think of. 1) Paint Guns - obviously 2) Air Hammers - A...

I Think DeWalt Won this Battle

When Milwaukee introduced their M18 belt sander I said to myself why the hell would you make a sander that has a 3" X 18" belt that is completely non-standard. I typically buy most of what Milwaukee makes but the odd belt size, when I have a **** load of 3" X 21" belts for my industry standard...

Strange Use for a Pliers Wrench

As an old fart I'm having problems with pushing down the tabs of connectors to release them. I wanted to change the air filter on my Toyota Camry and to do so you have to remove the connector that goes to the MAF sensor. I tried to push down the tab but couldn't do it with my fingers alone. So I...

Information for those that have bought the new Milwaukee Band Files

The owners manual for these two tools is WRONG!!!! According to the owners manual the tool needed to loose the tracking locking screw is a 1/16" hex key. THAT IS NOT THE CASE AND A 1/16" HEX KEY WILL NOT FIT. What the tiny screw actually is a a T6 Torx and requires a T6 Torx screwdriver or bit...

    The Rise of 1/4" Drive

When I was a kid (that was about 1965) 1/2" drive was king. 3/8" drive was coming on and 1/4" drive was sort of specialty stuff. Now 1/4" is apparently the dominant player in the world. I first learned this when selling TOPTUL which has a complete selection of 1/4" drive, a not so complete...

Anybody have a part number for what appears to be a new Snap-On long nosed pliers

I saw both Eric O. and Rainman Ray using a rather unique Snap-On pliers that are long nosed and have a slip joint. These look interesting to me. Does anybody have a part number for this pliers so that I can order one.

Does anybody know the diameter of the freeze plugs (well they are actually core plugs) used in the Ford Powerstroke 6.0 Turbo Diesel

I need to rebuild one of these engines for a friend and I don't know what size freeze plugs are used in these. I know there are big ones and little ones. I need to buy a nylon freeze plug installer punch from Summit Racing but I don't know which one. Can somebody help me out here

New Milwaukee Tool Seen at SEMA

I've been waiting for this ever since they introduced their 3" cut off tool. In the Milwaukee booth they have both a 3/8" X 13 and a 1/2" X 18 inch M12 Band Files. Bodymen of the world rejoice! Strike fear into the hearts of spot welds everywhere.

    SEMA's Coming Up

Well, it's been three years since I last attended SEMA. Not my fault, they didn't have it two years ago and last year it was a skeleton of it's normal self but this year it should be back to normal. Fedwrench and I are going. Anybody else heading up to Vegas for the show? Can't wait to see my...

Anybody have an opinion of Shars precision tools. Like a Dial Bore Gauge

Well, I've given up. My Johnson Level digital dial bore gauge has now been officially considered lost forever, or at least until it's replacement shows up most likely. I'm considering buying some Shars micrometers and a Shars dial bore gauge. Abom79 uses some of their stuff so I'm thinking it...

Do You Have So Many Tools You Forget Where You Put Them?

OK, I've got to help my friend Dennis rebuild his 6.0 Powerstroke which he blew up even though it has all of the Bulletproof Upgrades. I know for a fact that I bought a digital dial bore gauge made by Johnson Level from Zoro in 2014 that has 0.0001 accuracy that would be very helpful in this...
