I am 6 ft tall and my bench is 42". I don't work with a lot of bulkier projects though. For wood working i have a folding work table that is a 36" height. Always_Thinkin

Here is my bench. I have had it for the past 5 years or so. I really like it and it works well for what I like to do. It is 8 ft long, 42 inch work surface height and 30 inches deep. The shelf 18 inches above the work surface is really handy. It also has magnetic tool strips. Always_Thinkin

rburke65: Thank you sir! I have tall ceilings in my garage and i didn't want to hang my lights from a wall hanger or down from the ceiling. I figured no matter where i want to move my workbench in the garage I will always have good lighting this way.

The tool tray ideas I was thinking are below. The side tool tray would be between the tool chest and the work bench. The front tool tray could be a quick bolt on setup. Keep the ideas coming. Thank you for the comments too.

My experience was similar. I lubed the rollers in the track and the hinges. Mine were binding because of corrosion.

Gojeremy, the little workbench is built out of 2x6s. The top is 11" x 30" and the small shelf is just one 2x6 wide.

I tensioned my new springs just last fall. I used two 1/2 inch dia rebar cut 12 inches long. I used my angle grinder to take off the ribs. I inserted the rebar and wrapped electrical tape on the rebar so I knew if I had the rebar completely inserted into the tensioner drum.
