Miter Saw Stand - Finally Started Building

All, I finally found some time yesterday and started building my miter saw stand. I went the cheaper route rather than take hours and hours designing and building a detailed folding setup. So far I have $20 in it. I used an eight foot long 2x10 as the main structure of the stand and an eight...

Do you happen to have any pictures of your workbench? Curious to see what it looks like. I have always thought this was a good design, one of my favorites.

    Lets see your workbench

Thanks Knyte. I have other photos of the finished bench at the link below if you are interested. It was fairly simple to build. Basically, the top is two layers of 3/4" plywood that are glued and screwed together. The legs are 2x4s and they pivot on 1/2" diameter carriage bolts...

    Lets see your workbench

Small Garage Storage - My Drill Press and Grinder Stand

Basher, I agree with you on what a small garage is. However, the ideas i ran across and built were for "small garages". While i don't have a small garage compared to others, i still needed these small garage ideas. That way I could still be able to park both of my cars in the garage during...

Small Garage Storage - My Drill Press and Grinder Stand

All, Good evening. I wanted to share with you another project that i recently finished for my downsized garage. Below are links to my folding workbench and power tool tower. The drill press was too heavy to store in my power tool tower so i drew up and built a drill press stand with a...

My Small Garage Power Tool Tower

All, Finished the power tool tower today. I also made collapsible stands for the band saw, table saw and miter saw. Those are in the other pics. The stands are made out of 2-bys that i ripped down to a 1.5"x1.5" stick and the tops are 3/4" plywood that were cut to 24"x24". I am really happy...

    My Small Garage Folding Workbench

All, As i shared in a previous post i have moved into a new home and unfortunately the garage is much smaller that the one i had before. So i have had to make things compact and utilize my storage space much better. I have links to my power tool tower and my drill press stand below if you...

    Power Tool Tower Storage

Thank you. A big part of my issue is lack of space. I agree a rolling tool stand/ cabinet would be great and especially with a flip top on it. Unfortunately, in my case I don't have the room for it. Thanks. Every tool is very easy to get to and handy. I put a lot of thought into where...

    Power Tool Tower Storage

Finished the power tool tower today. Only thing left is to make a collapsible stand for the band saw, table saw and miter saw. I am really happy with how it turned out. I had some casters laying around but i think i will be upgrading those in the near future.

What can I do with these Blow Molded cases?

Going along with his idea, and not sure if this would work. Get cans of the low expanding spray foam. Open the case and cut out the insides. Partially fill both halves of the case with the foam. Then put a pistol in a gallon zip-loc baggy for protection. Place the gun in the case and shut it...

    Power Tool Tower Storage

The bench top usually rotates about a full width piece of conduit or pipe attached to each end support. I have seen these before and are a great space saving idea for any garage. Typically there are power tools mounted on the opposite work top that help balance the thing when it is rotating...

    Stem Wall Concrete Insulation

No need to worry about insulating the 6" stick up of concrete stem wall. I would recommend sealing the perimeter joint that will exist around the top of your floor that buts up against the stem wall. You can get a concrete joint sealant at Lowes, HD etc.

    Sturdy Folding Removable Workbench

I appreciate your complement. I look forward to see how it stands up to what I put it through. I might put a piece of sacrificial tempered hard board on top to protect it from abuse and spills.

    Power Tool Tower Storage

Wanting opinions on my next project. It is a power tool storage tower on locking casters. I have a small delta band saw, miter saw, table saw, and bench top belt/ disk sander. Possibly another shelf for my circular saw, sawz all, and jig saw or just hang these tools from the peg board/ hooks...

    Sturdy Folding Removable Workbench

All, I attached photos of the progress I have made on my fold up workbench. It is two pieces of 3/4 inch plywood glued and screwed together to make the worktop. It is 30 inches by 78 inches by 1.5 inches thick. The worktop is at a 33 inch work height. The legs are 2x4's doubled up with a...

    Sturdy Folding Removable Workbench

All, I made some great progress on the folding workbench over the last couple of days. I am very happy with how it is coming along. I have the majority of the workbench finished. I need to add the removable cross brace, make cut-outs for my removable work top extensions and my removable...
