Finished the power tool tower today. Only thing left is to make a collapsible stand for the band saw, table saw and miter saw. I am really happy with how it turned out. I had some casters laying around but i think i will be upgrading those in the near future.

Going along with his idea, and not sure if this would work. Get cans of the low expanding spray foam. Open the case and cut out the insides. Partially fill both halves of the case with the foam. Then put a pistol in a gallon zip-loc baggy for protection. Place the gun in the case and shut it...

The bench top usually rotates about a full width piece of conduit or pipe attached to each end support. I have seen these before and are a great space saving idea for any garage. Typically there are power tools mounted on the opposite work top that help balance the thing when it is rotating...

No need to worry about insulating the 6" stick up of concrete stem wall. I would recommend sealing the perimeter joint that will exist around the top of your floor that buts up against the stem wall. You can get a concrete joint sealant at Lowes, HD etc.
