Infrared thermometer or thermal imager recomendations

$600 Flir E4 https://www.flir.com/promotions/open-box-refurbs/ These can be upgraded to E8 specification. There’s a whole thread on eevblog with detailed instructions. I don’t use my camera on the car much, but I’m not a mechanic either. I imagine the difference between a point and decent...

Heat shrink printer for labeling wiring

I have a Rhino label printer from Dymo. It has a good selection of consumables. It works good when I need it. It does, however, eat the ribbon sometimes and when it does you have to throw away the whole cartridge.

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

They have other decent battery deals too. (1) 5Ah, (2) 6 Ah for $209 for example.

    portable table saws

I have a Bosch 4100 which I’ve used a 6” dado set with a fair bit. Manual says up to 13/16” dado; 1” wide, 7” diameter shaper head.

    Which Magliner?

Absolutely agree here. Retail is similar. Being a brand people aren't searching for, it's easier to find deals.

    Which Magliner?

I know MagLiner is the de facto standard hand truck, but you may check out RWM Casters. Build and options are all pretty comparable. I got mine off Amazon Warehouse for $50. Similar MagLiners are 3x the price. Obviously, YMMV, but it's not a name you see commonly, so deals are easier to come by.

Attached lid totes - 80 for $1000 + free shipping

Decent deal if you need a lot of totes for your shop. I've dealt with these guys in the past when I ordered 3 bunks of 4.5" polyiso insulation...

    Cabinet Hardware Jig

I used a TruePosition jig when I did the cabinets in our new house. https://truepositiontools.com/product/tp-1934-cabinet-hardware-jig/ I did 50 doors and 30 drawers with the jig. There are some knock offs out there that are cheaper. I was able to sell my jig on eBay for 80% what I paid.

    Tracksaw Parallel Guides

I have a pair of Precision Dogs guides. I bought them a couple years ago, so offerings might be improved and other options available. Just looking at the main systems, my take is this: - Precision dogs: more bare bones but nice that you can use a t-track of your choosing, so if you want LONG...

    Selecting the Right Caulk Gun

Dripless partially solves this. There is a small spring that retracts the piston a few mm to take the pressure off. Depending on the caulk, you get none or a little extra.

    HLVP Paint Equipment

I think most pro painters are using fine finish airless setups, not HVLP. When you say HVLP, are you thinking a turbine + gun or compressor + gun?

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

I recently investigated these boxes. I was only able to find 1 review that was after a year of use: Seems like a good box. I decided against it though. Homak is charging $2k and for not much more, you can pick up an Extreme Tools box that's ~7" taller and 1" deeper (albeit, w/out the stainless...

    Ultra sonic cleaner recommendation

I’ll add to this... meeting the labeled spec. Not saying it 300W ultrasonic and being 80W or 120W heating and being 40W. I bought a somewhat expensive Chinese cleaner and it was 40% the cleaning wattage.

    Bit Ratchets

A couple more from my bike tool collection: 1. Prestacycle with extension. Extension can slide thru the ratchet to use as a t-handle driver. Has a pretty nice quality feel to it. Magnet in the end to hold bits. 2. no-name Chinese mini bike tool from Amazon, RUJIO branded. selector switch is...

Endoscope / camera to fit spark plug hole

I picked up an endoscope from Amazon that I really like. Typical no-name Chinese brand and my hopes weren't too high for it. It's turned out quite good. Has two camera, one front facing and another side facing. No need to add on some kind of mirror to get a look at cylinder wall. It's an...

    Recommend a water pump

A different take here: look for a dewatering pump on amazon warehouse deals. I picked up a Tsurumi LB-480A for $200. These are meant for jobsite abuse, so the cord is tough, made of metal, able to run dry for more than a minute or two. Massive gpm. Get a cheapo 2” hose and you’ll be set. I...

Getting Staples out of oak stair tread?

Being an automotive forum, perhaps a small slide hammer with vise grips? A little tappy tap tap should do the trick.

    Bicycle torque wrench

I use a CDI Torquecontrol adjustable torque tool. Covers most of the necessary values, 2 to 8Nm in 0.1Nm increments. I think it's ~$55. Only issue I have with it, is it's one way. I have a single left handed insert that holds the top of the rear shock eyelet in which I can't use it for.
