    What Tools Have You Misplaced/Lost?

My combination 8mm/10mm flare nut wrench. Part of a set, and the only one that fit the brake lines on my old Miata. Still pretty cheesed off about that. No idea where it disappeared to.

What is Harbor Freight's largest socket?

You haven't told us what you're trying to use this socket for. I was in a similar situation recently where I needed to get a axle nut off the front hub of a 4x4 Toyota pickup and realized after a fruitless search that a normal socket wouldn't work. I had to buy a fabricated purpose built hub...

The 20V line from Dewalt, or should I go Milwaukee?

Yep, to replace the cheapest drill and battery combo Dewault offered 10 years ago that came with the cheapest nicad batteries Dewalt offered at the time, that gave me a decade of service. Less hard to imagine. Fair point to the above poster for pointing out that I should look into replacement...

The 20V line from Dewalt, or should I go Milwaukee?

Not a bad idea. I'm sure it was the cheap batteries. I'll look into it. The 20v drill itself is nice. Although I do miss the little clip on the front of the drill my old 18v had for storing a spare bit.

The 20V line from Dewalt, or should I go Milwaukee?

I have a 20v Dewault drill, a cheaper unit that is brushed. Came in a zippered tool bag with two batteries and a charger. It was about $100 if I remember correctly. I bought it because my 18v (NiCd) Dewault drill finally had both batteries fail to recharge. Not bad after nearly 10 years of...

    Machine shop equipment sweating!!!

Ugh, I think I know how this one goes then. I had a piece of plywood laying flat on the concrete for a few months with some equipment set on it. When I finally got around to picking up the plywood, it was all moldy underneath. Sounds like I likely have a seepage problem them. That really *****...

    Machine shop equipment sweating!!!

Did you find your shop condensed real bad the last few days or so? My new-to-me shop in Houma gets water on the slab occasionally, and I'm really trying to find out if it's condensation or seepage. Pretty sure it's condensation since it's an uninsulated steel building.

    Drill pipe building in Louisiana.

So this is my wife’s grandpa’s building I’m helping him fix up. He and his son built it in the 80’s. Being a retired oil man, he had access to literally tons of old drill pipe and built the girder structure of the building with it. He wants to put some insulation in the building and rewire it...

So who else got a "gimmick" tool for Christmas?

Not for Christmas, but my son got me one of these about a year ago as a thank you present for helping him fix his computer. It's janky as all get-out, but it sits pristine in my toolbox next to my other ratchets all the same.

    Corrugated metal walls for bathroom

Agreed. We put some in my son's room and used that method. I just simply screwed it right into the sheetrock. It's held up fine for almost 5 years now.

When it rains I take on water

Looks like some gutters would help also, to keep roof runoff from further saturating the concrete right in front of the garage.

Options sealing up old steel building at the foundation (pictures included)

Lots of good advice here. Thank you everyone for your input. I think a combination of Pest Block Great Stuff to keep out the bigger varmints and critters (we get snakes in there too sometimes) and the Tempo for the ants will be the routes I go.

Options sealing up old steel building at the foundation (pictures included)

So I've been doing some work helping my grandpa fix up his old steel building. He built it himself back in the 80's and it's held up remarkably well. But one issue we get a lot is ants in the building. They get behind some of the cabinets along the walls and build some pretty epic mounds. It...

    Hey y'all from Louisiana.

Heh, I think I created a user account years ago to see some thread attachments and forgot about it. I "rediscovered" the forum recently, and when I tried to create a new account I was politely informed that I was already a member. lol. I must be getting old.
