I have the 26" Craftsman Edge series. Made (or at least assembled?) by Waterloo in Missouri.

The newer C3 1/2 Impact with the lithium battery puts out 300 ft-lbs.

Kershaw Chive. I work in an office, so the fact it can fit in a watch pocket & still cut almost anything you'd need cut in most "EDC" scenarios is nice.

Just a thought on the "We were built on capitalism" point of view. For capitalism to work within a society, both the supply side and the consumption side need to be "free" to operate as the market dictates. What we have today: (1) China is a much more "capitalistic" environment than the US...

Well there you go... I think we've gotten to the bottom of it. I'm a pessimist and my kids are younger... I'm expecting they'll need a good job to buy really nice shoes and expensive cars that drive themselves. ;)

Don't think anyone said there's no work here. My point was that there are very few "protected" jobs in the US. i.e., for many of the same reasons we lost manufacturing jobs, we will (are) losing jobs in every other segment of the workforce, including agriculture and those wonderful...

Factory, steel mill, and other blue collar jobs might **** (welcome to life), but they're better than a lot of the alternatives (i.e., unemployment &/or many "service industry" jobs). What exactly are these other jobs that we can do in the US that others can't do, that a healthy, sustainable...

I agree the impact is very small in the scheme of things, but I'd argue there is some positive impact (i.e. buying US made tools, even used ones, is good for the US economy... or at least marginally better than buying imports). Little bits of value that we can maintain in the US could add up &...

That's only true if the market as a whole (or within a segment) doesn't distinguish between US made tools and non US made tools. If you assume there's a market (or market segment) for US made tools, then what happens in the "used" segment impacts what happens in the "new" market. We can debate...

As others have noted, that's not true. Econ 101. Demand for used stuff leads to a lower supply of used stuff, which leads to a higher demand for new stuff, which of course leads to a higher supply of new stuff. How many of us have hunted for a good deal on a used tool.... only to give up...

Or, similar, if you put more than a little downward force on it, the adapter (& socket) will come out the backside. i.e., the adapter is usable, but could've been designed better. I've had this for a year or so. Like here, got it for a really good price. Between the low torque and big...
