    channel lock warranty ?

I broke one of the end "bits" on my snap ring pliers. Sent them an email asking where I could get a new one, and they sent me a whole new bag (multiple sets). Great service.

Who here is NOT a COO Snob?

I buy US made products, including tools, for economic reasons. I've got this crazy notion that a huge debt and huge negative trade balance with China might not be good for Americans. It's probably a lost cause, but I have kids, and already feel guilty about the turd my generation will be...

    Looking for an EDC knife

If you like the Leek, maybe consider the Chive. I have both and carry the Chive as my EDC... smaller, more convenient (fits in a watch pocket), and there's not much it can't cut that the Leek could.

    Today's tool box

I guess some might be, but the model number on my 26" top chest is 706-407620. Isn't 706 the Waterloo code? Sears Chat on two separate occasions told me the vendor was Waterloo, and it was made in Missouri... I'm sure Sear Chat has never been wrong! :) Looking at Waterloo's site, their boxes...

    Today's tool box

Checkout the Craftsman Edge Series boxes. They're not on sale right now, but seem to go on sale for 50% off relatively frequently... & you can usually use points, codes, etc. on them. I recently picked up the top & bottom 26" for just north of $500 and am very happy with it (for home use)...

    Starter set for your kids

Same here, except much earlier in the process. I've got three just turning 9 (twins) and 11. Three years ago they each got a light weight / carry box (Flambeau) for Christmas. The next year they each got hammers (Estwing), last year they got a set of Williams screwdrivers. This coming...

    which toolbox?

I got a 26" Craftsman Edge series cabinet and top chest recently & have been very happy with it (for home use). Not sure how it would hold up for daily pro use though. Both units together list at $1300, but they seem to have 1/2 off sales often. With some points I ended up getting both for...

    Installed an Eley Hose Reel

I did the same thing about two years ago (bought two)! Treated 4x4 in concrete for the base / holder, and Eley reels. Don't remember why I didn't just buy the reels with the stands (probably thought I could (over) engineer something better). :dunno: Anyway, agree it was tough to pay that much...

Craftsman USA 20 piece Stubby set - $84.99 or less

I know it's not uncommon to change vendors (& COO) and keep the same part number for "similar" products, but this is really pushing the envelope on that approach. Sears is really selling two different things in this case, with two very different market values. One is a "value level" set of...

Craftsman USA 20 piece Stubby set - $84.99 or less

Kinda seems like you have judged some people? In that regardless of certain variables that some might consider important (price & COO), they're hypocrites if they don't try them out first before returning? How long do they need to give the lobster claws a try in order to avoid the hypocrite...

Craftsman Wood Chisels look to be going Chinese

Agree. I'm not happy with the imported stuff, and generally don't buy it, but you can still get some decent USA made, DIY level stuff at reasonable prices (for now). More than HF, Lowes, or most hardware stores anyway. It'll be one less option when they shut down. For USA, reasonably priced...

Craftsman Wood Chisels look to be going Chinese

Another good Sears story. I have the 5 piece set of the WF USA Craftsman chisels and really like them. Noticed on my Sears local add this morning that they had the 3 piece set on sale for $11, and four in stock. Thought it would be nice to pick up a set for each of my kids (three). Through...

    Zoro Deals Thread

I finally found $200 worth of stuff I "need" and hit submit at exactly 5pm EST.... code expired! Oh well... saved $140. I'll keep it in my cart & be ready for the next one.

    Craftsman Professional 4 1/2" vise $90 (or $105 w/$20 in points back)

Received mine last Friday & finally got a chance to take it out tonight. Mine was the "old" style round back. Packaging was a little odd... it was in its original "store" box, but then thrown into a much larger brown cardboard box with no filler. Arrived in good shape. Took it half...

    Craftsman Professional 4 1/2" vise $90 (or $105 w/$20 in points back)

Thanks! Just ordered one... $78 out the door with free shipping. Been looking for a decent US one on CL for a while with no luck, so I'll try this one. Sounds promising, especially for the money (& with the "prep" instructions per the other post!).
