Above 1200 Sq/FT A New Shop in Tennesse

Hello, I'm a retired shop (high school/college) teacher. After schools stopped teaching shop I went into maintenance. Thirty plus years ago my wife and I talked it over and decided we would build a shop to "tinker" in when I retired. We decided to start saving and purchasing tools so when the...

    Best Epoxy For Heavy Use

Go with Hellfire! I built a 3000 sq. ft. shop in the back yard this past summer. Applied 4 coats of Hellfire. Hellfire is thinner than epoxy. You will want a min. of 3 coats, 4 looks great! It dries from humidity in the air. Took about 1.5-2 hrs between coats to be able to walk on for the next...

    Experienced machinist Question

I've turned down the shanks on dozens of HSS drills bits over the years. The shanks turn easily. Chuck the drill in a lathe and turn down. Do not try and grind. It will not be straight and slip/wobble in the drill chuck.

Take a guess, another Air Compressor question!

I love my Quincy QT-54. It's in another room seperated by an insulated 2x4 wall and fairly quiet. I also use the Motor Guard "TP" filter system on my plasma cutter.

Anyone want to take a guess about what size this shop is?

Balusters by code can have no more than a 4" gap between each. This makes it wider than 24'.

    Need drill recommendation

I prefer the Milwaukee 18 volt Fuel series. These are brushless and the batteries go a long time between charges. Plenty of power. I bought a combination 1/2" drill w/hammer function and an impact driver. I've had the set since they first hit the market 5 plus years. They've been worked hard...

New build. What am I forgetting?

A bit more depth, use 4,000 psi concrete for the floor. It will give you a better smoother finish and 4" will be adequate for your 4 post lift. Also put 6x6 #10 WWM in the concrete.

    man door threshold gap

Perhaps you could use an aluminum threshold and a door sweep. The thresholds come in varying thicknesses and the sweep will seal the small gap. This works better for larger gaps.

    Backfeeding electrical

Fresh air/ventilation or not CO builds up in your system. While the doors open will provide fresh air and dilute the CO. Over relatively short time CO will continue to build in your system and slowly **** the life out of you or other occupants. CO does not leave your system as fast as it enters...
