The 18-TD and 18-TDF tap and drill sets from Norseman are always handy. Has the tap and correct drill right next to each other. The taps actually cut threads unlike those **** carbon steel taps.

I used to be a roofer. +1 on removing. If not they will cause problems in the long run. Plus those silverfish alien bugs love those cedar shakes and probably already infested.

I like the idea of more stud bays into some recessed shelving. I have some similar shelving over the work bench in the back and on the other side of the garage. I've even built rafter supports and put 4'x8' sheets of plywood in the rafters for storage for much more of my antique tools and lawn...

I'm no expert, but just installed a fan this weekend. Looks like you only have one switch for both the light and fan. Blue is defiantly the light. If there is a plug in in the room, plug a light in and see if it works if you haven't turned breaker off. If the light works the power would be...
