Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

I take it that you have the 12/24 JNC Pack. I understand that the series connection will give the 24 volts. But, how does the unit get switched back and forth from 12 to 24? Is there an external switch?

Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

Wow, now that is getting right down to the science of it. I kind of thought that it might be that way, but wasn't going to purchase just so I could take it apart. I'm still waiting on NOCO for an answer and will post if they respond.

Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

Don't like the idea of watching for "magic smoke". But this would be an interesting experiment too. Thanks

Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

I agree with you on the lead acid batter jump packs. probably act similar to two batteries is series . I know these Lithium packs have power switches on them. Turning one on at a time, probably won't work nor switching to switch them both on at the same time. I've contacted NOCO and waiting...

Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

It would seem to me, that if you can hook two batteries in series to get 24, why not to Packs? You might be right about they not liking what I want to do with them. I've look hard and long on the internet. Found nothing about it.

Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

Ok, let me make this less complicated. Anyone know why you can't connect two 12 volt Jump Packs in series to make 24 volt jump pack.

Jump Packs 12 volt and 24 volt

I am curious if anyone has tried using two 12 volt jump packs in series to make a 24 volt jump pack? There are a lot of 12 jump packs but only a few 24 volt packs. The 24 volt packs are a heck of a lot more expensive. I was thinking about buying two of the 12 volt jump packs. This way when I...

    Belt sizing for Compressor

I'll have to wait on this one. As I mentioned before, the guard is around the pully's and I can't get to it now to take it apart. So I can't get the distances very accurate.

    Belt sizing for Compressor

Lot's of info on the Dayco chart, but difficult to figure out how to use. Thanks

    Belt sizing for Compressor

Another good explanation. I was thinking of using a cut off wheel and then filing it down. Just not sure about the start and end drill holes. left side of motor fits in a slotted position right side of motor does match up with anything.

    Belt sizing for Compressor

Thanks, Glad I didn't have to calculate that formula. I believe that I am going to have to drill and elongate a slot in the welded plate on the tank. I bought a motor and it does not fit in the slots provided. If I don't do that, I won't be able to adjust the tension on the belt. I...

    Belt sizing for Compressor

What is the simplest way to determine the size of a belt form my compressor. I have to play around with motor pulley size for the RPM that I need. That will make a difference in the distance. The motor will not fit into the platform slots so I'll have to drill different holes for lockdown the...

    Compressor determination??

One more and the last input here IR contacted through e-mail. Got exactly what I need from them. They actually found the Engineering Data Sheet for the 234 compressor that I have. Great job from IR

    Compressor determination??

Carlaisle, Very good explanation. You found more info on this unit then I could find. Good stuff. Also an unknown was the compressor speed. I've seen several comments on keeping it in the less then 1000 rpm range for compressors. I have a large guard over the belts and kind of guessed at...

    Compressor determination??

Although you are right about needing more HP to get to the high pressure point sooner. I don't care about that. I need to find HP size motor to run from the start to the end pressure point. It looks like pulley sizing will play a big part in this. If it takes 1 minute or it takes 1 hour...

    Compressor determination??

I think you mean that the HP needed will increase as the PSI in the tank rises. The speed would be for CFM. 3-5 sounds resonable. I'll have to play with the pulley sizing. I purchased 4", 2 1/2" and 2" pulley's in addition to the 6 inch that was on the motor provided with the unit. No...

    Compressor determination??

You have to get someone form IR to respond. That's the real problem. Thought about this already and tried.

    Compressor determination??

As I said, the name plate on the pump only gives the Model number and serial number. No HP ratings. I've looked up the model number and haven't found anything related to the HP. I've been thinking this over. PSI and CFM and Volume. With an empty take, all compressor pumps would be at...

    Compressor determination??

I have a large IR compressor. The unit has what I believe to be the original compressor pistons (unit}. I don't believe the motor is original nor do I believe the HP rating on the motor that came with it. I.e. I think the motor doesn't belong to this compressor. How do you determine what...
