I've seen numerous race engines ruined while using Fram filters. In my case, not a "urban legend". I've seen the results in many oil pans and cut open filters. This was enough for me to swear off them for life.

We have such machines. We still hand check AFTER the machines. Part of our QC process. We don't just check for MINIMUM torque (like the techs at Costco). We also check for over torque in which a normal "click type" torque wrench doesn't do. Our QC process is no joke. We don't do it just...

Torque wrenches lose accuracy when not stored at their lowest setting. Highly doubt the "technicians" store the wrenches this way. The longer is goes....the worse it gets. So, the statement they use torque wrenches means nothing to me. I am sure they don't take the time to look up...
