    Yes, you should have turned up the heat. Better than looking at a chart, learn to read the weld. Especially for something that, when it fails, is going to cause a bus full of nuns, babies, and kittens to die, you need to understand what the weld is doing.

    I have a 6 pole motor on each of my main drill presses. The 1100 runs at about 60 rpm most of the time. The craftsman runs around 400 most of the time. Gobs of torque on both of them.

    Laser guided miter saw thoughts

    True, sort of. If I don't put my mark in the right spot, the blade isn't contacting the work where my mark is. So I have to get the speed square out to draw a line so the way across the work to line the blade up. A laser is helpful then, even if I have to bring the blade down to use it.

    I would probably go ahead and fix a bunch of that so you aren't dinged by the next buyer because they'll "have to pay a plumber $10k to fix it right after they buy it"
