    that Moody vise has a lot of similarities to Simplex vises. not 100% a copy but dang close. edit: i see Moody Tools is based in Cranston, RI. the original Simplex vises were made in Woonsocket, RI. perhaps they private labeled.

    Prentiss no. 21 Vise Parts?

    if you look at older Prentiss swivel base vises, they have a flat, round knob that goes on the pin. they are usually a pain in the **** to operate, very hard to pull. the lever was a design upgrade. however it would be a lot easier to replicate a round knob than the lever.

    new find today. I googled and did not see much info out there. very unique looking, uncommon filer's model. Ridgid 41-FSN filer's vise 4.25" jaws, opens 6", weight 58 lbs. this one has homemade brass jaws.

    Garant & Swiss Tools

    this just happened to be sitting on my coffee table as i saw this thread. i have 2 identical, one at work. it is a handy size. 0.3 x 2.0 slotted. i don't own any other Garant. or pb swiss screwdrivers but this is nice.

    found this today. thought it was one of the older Craftsman/Dunlap homeowner grade vises at first until i read the lettering. I've never found a trade school vise before so it had to come home with me. University of Toledo vise 3.5" jaws, opens 3", weight 21 lbs.

    I picked up a snap-on sll80a number of years back used for a good price, and took it to work. used to use it a lot more, it did a great job and I like using it. but i moved departments now it pretty much is drawer jewelry in my box. getting rid of it? heck no lol

    no, but yours looks like the whole slide support and lower front half of the vise were completely broken off. there shouldn't be a keyway on a tapered pin, either. that one has been bubbafied.

    my buddy found this Craftsman speeder ratchet at an estate sale after I had showed him my Herbrands. we did a trade and it came home with me. truthfully i am not into vintage Craftsman however i will make an exception for this super clean example.
