    The VISES of Garage Journal

Just recently, there was a real clean Reed 206 for sale online in Cleveland for $200, two guys got in a bidding war over it. Then **** ad was gone, seller stopped responding to the bidders. About a week later, same seller relists it for $700. :spit: it's been gone so I'm guessing someone got it...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Thanks for the kind words shift, vise, gforce, smitty, and andy. Still grinning from ear to ear! I am lucky to live in OH where it seems there a lot of vises around. However, cheap/popular vises (Wilton, Reed) go super quick because there are a lot of collectors and flippers in the area. So...

Fierljeppen- what a unique looking model!! Open slide and wrought bars is reminiscent of Lewis Tool Co., or perhaps the Barrett patent Meadville combos would be a better comparison. Is this a Barrett patent vise? Thanks for the kind words about the Emmert btw. It is so nice I couldn't pass it...

Honestly any 2" or 2.5" USA vise that is built like a large vise will cost you unless you randomly find a smoking deal. Vises are expensive at either end of the size spectrum, most likely due to lower numbers being made at the size extremes. Where as you see 4" or 4.5" sizes posted here daily...

    Rock Island #25 vise

It looks like that vise is a #56, the #25 is a different style of vise (autovise). I would think value is around $500 or more. I would try selling it on fb marketplace if it were mine.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hi danny, hoping you would see this. It was advertised as a larger size where i found it, so i thought it was the same as my 3.5" version. Couldn't really judge the size in the pix. What a pleasant surprise to find it was actually smaller. What really has me at a loss, this vise is assembled...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Came across a neat little vise today. Massey Vise Co. "Lightning Grip" no. 10 2.5" jaws, opens 3", weighs 21 lbs. These vises use a cam and rack system to tighten vs a conventional screw, which gives them a handy quick release feature. It fuctions very smoothly. Sadly, it is missing the...

I only have one, a black oxide Plomb that has no stamps on the reverse. It is NOS with some shelf wear. Shown with a Proto Professional I gave my dad as a gift. It is also black oxide, no reverse stamp. I thought I had better pics, my apologies.
