how should I have vaulted ceiling insulated?

You mentioned doing the wall electrical yourself later, but bear in mind that you may need to run wires up over the ceiling to get to "other" wall, etc. Might be hard to spec having builder only do ceiling wiring and finish a ceiling without doing most of your other wiring.

    in car phone charger

I've had great luck with this one from Amazon - two 2.4A ports. Have it in all four cars in the family: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ISGCAJM/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Scissor Truss side load on walls vs STD Truss

My recent build used 38' scissor trusses. I just checked drawing and the max Horizontal Deflection is shown as 1.14". Keep in mind that is at TOTAL worst case load which is all spec'd conservatively and with safety factor, so I don't think the full inch would ever happen.

    New garage build..seeking advice

Here's shot of my 38' wide by 56' deep stick-build with scissor trusses. Not sure which way you are running roof-line. 11' walls with a 4/12 interior pitch allows the whole depth of center bay for lift height.

    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

I am wondering if the inventory at distributors like WeShipGarageDoorParts and Amazon has cleared by now...?

I'm going to Racedeck THE WORLD!

Not sure of your location and status of any building inspector seeing your "garage", but now that you turned it from basement to garage that ceiling finish might be required to be firecode sheetrock, and a metal door to separate from living space, etc.

    Densifier sealer etc

I just burnished my HD40 here in New Hampshire last weekend. No prob. If your floor is poured within stem walls, see if they can be sure to smooth the areas closer to the wall. Neither the microfiber applicator nor the burnisher worked well for me near the wall since it was not power troweled...

    My floor option HD40

I'll tack this on here since my application is very similar. On my 2000 sq ft the 5 gallons of HD37 did just ONE coat (as we started and saw how much it was using to spread one even coat, we marked the sprayer bottle in 1/3 gallon increments since I have 15 "squares" defined by the saw cuts)...

    Scissor trusses or not?

Here's my new garage with 38' span scissor trusses. Bottom chord is rated for 10 psf and will carry insulation, sheetrock and lights. Outer pitch is 7/12 and inside is 4/12. Plenty to carry snow load here in New Hampshire.

    Question:fire suppression

There is water supply in parts of Londonderry (assuming location from your profile), so it might be worth a call to Pennichuck Water to see what's closest. At $200K for what you are talking about, might be an option to pay to hook-up.

    My floor option HD40

HD37 bold print in product description says to use full-strength on old or soft concrete, so I was assuming that meant diluted on new?? Did you use the 5 gallons full strength on your 2000 sq ft and get the three coats? Or was that diluted per instructions ? HD37 instructions (download) on...

    My floor option HD40

Thanks for the follow-up Scotty ! ( And TooManyTools ! ) Burnisher rental options that I can find jump from 1600 RPM up to one choice at 5400 RPM ! Would that be too fast for the hogs hair burnishing pad ?

    My floor option HD40

THANKS for posting your detailed experience ! Earlier this week I ordered up the same set of materials for my 2000 sq ft new garage here in New Hampshire. (Waiting to hear back from Legacy on shipping......) I'll keep looking for faster burnisher, but they all seem to be 1500-1600 RPM

Any results of how your HD40 burnishing went ? My 2000 sq ft floor is poured (YAY !) and I just ordered up HD37 and HD40. So I'm just a few weeks away from doing the same ! Paul

Concrete coming in a few weeks - what to do?

The spec sheet on that Sherwin Williams Densifier says: (click on Specifications, then "PDS") "Freshly placed concrete should cure a minimum of 3 days before applying the H&C® Clear Liquid Hardener & Densifier." The manufacture of the densifier that I plan to use says about 14 days. I...

    garage door framing

I am doing my garage door openings now. (Prior to floor going in) I am putting the king stud and two jack studs each side all up ON the stem wall. Then I'll add two more studs (probably PT) from floor to header to being the opening in to 9'-9'1" Can mess with this inner studs anytime without...

    Roof sheathing Tricks?

Thanks for posting this topic ! I will be using the 5/8" Zip on roof soon (on 24" center trusses here in New Hampshire) and was planning on H-clips anyway. I "assumed" the 5/8" Zip would be "T-T" (tongue-tongue) the same as the 1/2" Zip wall-sheathing, but I see on their website that the 5/8"...
