Precision Instruments Split Beam TW with Tekton head/internals?

I’m aware most folks in commercial shops are pressed for time. Whenever I’ve prepped race cars or worked on aircraft I’ve been careful to torque fasteners and inspect critical fasteners. I almost learned the hard way that shops don’t take this as seriously as oneself might when I found most of...

Precision Instruments Split Beam TW with Tekton head/internals?

Thanks Fig, I guess I’ll just have to deal with it. I assumed he was just interested in a side bar about the cars. I’m pretty fastidious about checking the fasteners on my track cars and I like to do the same when working on my normal street cars as well.

Precision Instruments Split Beam TW with Tekton head/internals?

Ah ok, well that *****. I don't have a Tekton, just a 3/8" and 1/2" drive PI. Was hoping I could just order a rebuild kit and make a few mods and swap them in.

Precision Instruments Split Beam TW with Tekton head/internals?

Precision Instruments Split Beam TW with Tekton head/internals?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to swap in the Tekton rebuild kit for their split beam torque wrenches into a PI split beam torque wrench. I'm finding it annoying/difficult at times to get the swing angle I need to torque some suspension fasteners at times.

    Tools of Japan

Does anyone have experience with the Koken E-torx nut grip sockets? I've got the standard metric ones and love them. Also it looks like Amazon.jp doesn't offer any Koken sockets and extensions anymore. I'm guessing it's better to order from a domestic source now?

    Thread Cleaning Tools?

Don't worry. I'll find other ways to mess it up. Like stacking the gearset in the incorrect order so I have to tear it back down...

    Thread Cleaning Tools?

Hmm this wire brush set might be the safest way to do this. A lot cheaper than buying a bunch of nice taps and less risk of me messing it up. Thanks!

    Thread Cleaning Tools?

Thanks, I was considering just modifying a bolt for this. I can run the tap as well. Just was wondering if there was a nice cheap non hardened tool for this.

    Thread Cleaning Tools?

Does anyone have suggestions for something like the Lang Tools re-threading taps but for smaller threads like M4 or 10-32? I don't want to cut new threads just clean out corrosion and old Loctite in things like motorcycle cases etc. Long shank versions would be a plus. Lang Tools tap for...

    Tools of Japan

Took a gamble and got my vessel ALWC 900 via Ali Express. Appears to be legit, well made, and packaged. Pretty sure this really is made in Japan. Bit holder holds non Japanese bits very well. Bit holder release action is nicer than my Wera bit check adapter. Handle feel is great too. Some...

On the curious lack of hex screwdrivers

I find them useful for small set screws around the house like door knobs. The ball enablers you reach them and the narrow handle doesn’t get hung up on other parts. Anex makes some ball ends in smaller sizes. I’ve found larger sizes useful for adjusting and assembling 80-20 fixtures.

    Flush Cut End Nippers

Might make sense to get a zip tie gun in these cases. Set the tension and cut all in one tool. https://www.aircraft-tool.com/Detail?id=E900-005 Otherwise maybe something like these tsunodas may work. https://www.tsunoda-japan.com/EN/itempage/KBN-150.html...

    Hazet tool thread

Thanks for the input guys. I'm in the USA so I think it already updates the pricing to show no VAT, but I'll double check that. Seems like everyone finds it a good tool. I'll keep an eye out for the Assitent locally.

    Hazet tool thread

I'm looking to get a Hazet 916HPLG 1/2 ratchet. Everyone seems to like it. Anything I should know before pulling the trigger? Are there any places online to get a good discount on it? Right now Amazon UK via Amazon USA seems like the best deal (KC, Chads, Jens all are more expensive). Is there...

Double Box End Long Wrench W/O Offset Choices

Seems like KTC might be the way to go for me. Does anyone know what EHIMEMACHINE means as a suffix for the part number? I found a M1603 set on Amamzon.jp Are there any US made wrenches like these other than Snap On?

Double Box End Long Wrench W/O Offset Choices

Thanks for all the info. I didn't realize KTC auto tool and KTC are different product lines. I found some KTC M150 and M160 sets (M1505 and M1603). I'll look into. Does anyone know much about Signet or SK11 COO? https://japan.webike.net/products/23605744.html...

Double Box End Long Wrench W/O Offset Choices

Ah I should have clarified I am looking for both sides to be different sizes and fixed 12pt. I don't need ratcheting. Like these: https://shop.ktcautotools.com/collections/wrench-series/products/6pcs-extra-long-offset-box-end-wrench-tool-set
