Custom carriage door build for my garage

Coated doors with 2 coats of Rust Bullet Duragrade Clear. Very glossy, bunch of small bubbles, maybe from foam roller. Plan to scuff up Sunday & add 3rd coat with flattening agent added.

Custom carriage door build for my garage

Heat distortion is a *****. I clamped everything to the table, then did 4 tack welds on each joint. I then went around and welded one side at a time, working my way around the door. When I had finished 3 sides, I flipped the door over to weld the last sides. When you're welding something long...

Custom carriage door build for my garage

I used a sheet of plywood reinforced with 2x4's to create a flat surface to layout and weld frames. Worked pretty well. My garage is still a mess, a lot of things have to happen to it can all come together. Little at a time..

Custom carriage door build for my garage

Thank you. I am pretty happy with the way they are turning out. I hate stuff that drags and causes problems, welded construction and robust hinges/screws will hopefully prevent that for a long time.

Custom carriage door build for my garage

Added 2nd coat of stain. Looks pretty good, think I'll clear coat next. Planning to use Rust Bullet Duragrade Clear to finish. I'll try the first coat gloss, then add flattener if I decide to go semi-gloss Doors are all 2 coats but angle of door to sun makes a big difference in looks. Bought...

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

The fact the Oppair makes 20 cfm at 116, direct drive, variable speed/soft start/single phase, only 30 gal tank to maintain cfm rating, puts it well ahead in value & features. Same warranty period, although oppair has extra 6 months on air end.

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

Quincy 5hp at Northern tool i really don't feel so bad now. Similar compressor at Northern Tool is $6000 and not as good. It's 3ph only, belt driven, only 16.6 cfm at 90 psi. It's also wye/delta start, which isn't really soft start. Nor is it variable speed. It also doesn't include a tank. Only...

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

Figured out my landed cost, was a lot more than anticipated by the time you add it all up. There are a lot of one-time fees for a single item like this. If I had ordered 10 pc the cost each would have been less. The normal duty on this type of item is 0%, but I believe the 25% is a punitive...

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

Oppair reply "I just asked the technician that the 5HP cannot do 12bar, but can only do a fixed pressure of 8bar. Our product catalog has not been updated, I'm sorry. Because motors and inverters are of different sizes." Not totally clear, but I am talking to a sales person. They can...

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

Hi. Not really sure on that one. If you wanted a higher pressure I would suggest contacting the company for the details. I was OK with 116 psi which should give me 100 at the tools with my large distribution line system, especially with the large extra tank and the ability of the compressor to...

Good to know. Are those pressures available in the 5hp size? Is the delivery still 20cfm?

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

145psi (1 mpa) is setting for safety release valve. Data plate on compressor says 116 psi. Also, looking through manual it lists the parameters for the controller & VFD, although I want to double check them.

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

I believe max psi is 116. But it is supposed to maintain that pressure at full flow rate using variable speed control. I was able to use 1/4" NPT fitting to supplied valve. Snugged up tight. Other picture is of bleeder unit, it has a float inside that bleeds off water when it gets high...

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

The controller is an aftermarket part. All the parameters are available to the end user. So as long as you make note of the settings you should be able to program a new controller. You can set a password, but it doesn't come locked as I understand it. I plan to go through the settings shortly &...

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

I know the 3/4 worked well, didn't try 1/4 yet. I had 3/4 npt ****** going into 3/4 bspp boss. Used Teflon tape, tightened up nicely. I'll advise on 1/4. It looks like npt is 18 tpi & bspp is 19 tpi so that could be the issue. 3/4 size has same tpi.

Looking to purchase affordable rotary (quiet) air compressor. What do you think of this model?

The fittings probably are metric but the only ones I have to deal with are the air outlet & drain. They seem to be 3/4 & 1/4 bspp, which will work with American npt fittings. I can change the units on the control but I haven't taken the time to go through the parameters yet. I want to copy all...
