    Tore Down the Honda Engine

That was cylinder 1. No known oiling issues other than my son driving it with with very little oil in it for a prolonged period. If you look closely at the oil ring, you can see where the oil baked into the corrugations of the ring. *Edited - Insufficient knowledge to account for my original...

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

As some of you know, I recently replaced my Honda Pilot engine with a Ridgeline engine because the Pilot engine had a distinct, cyclical, knocking sound. As an update, its been a few weeks since the engine swap and the Pilot is running as good as ever with the Ridgeline engine. I got curious...

Polishing a Turd and I f***ed up, Recommendations?

I may be going against the grain, but I like it as it is. It's a shop floor, its unique, and "imperfections" add character. A clean shop is a great thing, a spotless shop floor with no stains is not :)

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Purchased new 2016. Ours has been problematic and unreliable pretty much since day one, so I'll most likely never own another one. We usually give our vehicles to our kids when we upgrade vehicles, but this one might get sold outright for bottom dollar just to be rid of it.

Milwaukee's latest Impacts vs Old School Air

The difference between air and electric for me boils down to mobility. I can't haul a sufficiently sized air compressor with me on job sites, hauling trailers, or doing teardowns in the field. The M12 and M18 work everywhere, and I dont need to have a compressor with me to use them.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I pulled the engine from the Honda Pilot and separated it from the transmission. Mounted the replacement engine to the transmission and started replacing the seals, gaskets, timing belt, etc. on the replacement engine before it goes in. Hoping to get everything back in the Honda this weekend.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finally polyeurethane coated the flower/garden box, got it positioned in the back yard, and filled for the wife. We wound up putting zucchini, squash, onion, tomato, carrots, and bell peppers in it. Probably too many different plants for the box, but its purely for the fun of it so we'll roll...

    Garage Tool Value?

If there are specific tools you want certain people to have, give it to them as “time nears” or leave it to them in a will so that your wife doesn’t have to worry about finding a new owner for them. When it comes time for me to start thinking about that, I’ll ask my kiddos if they want anything...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Thats a great idea. I was planning on putting a base about 24 inches from the top, but i have so much firewood that your suggestion might be a better alternative. Thanks for the input!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My better half wanted an elevated flower/garden box for her birthday. I had some blue panels left over from the shop buildout, so I used them to make a box with a partial trellis. I'm not sure if I'll stain the wood or paint it, but Im sure she'll let me know which one I prefer shortly. 😁

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Well, I had several plans/projects in place for today. However, once I finished the first project I just couldn't seem to get motivated to do the rest. It most likely had something to do with my first project being a hammock install in the shop bay door opening. Just testing it out. If the...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Its ok, the Milwaukee set is excellent. I abuse the snot out of them and the labels stay readable and the sockets hold up very well.

    AFM/DFM De-Activators

Range seems to be the go to as far as OBD II DLC port disablers are concerned. Though cylinder deactivation electronic control is bypassed, the hardware is still present (lifters and AFM/DFM cam). Lifter failures still occur even with the DOD disablers present, albeit it at a significantly...

    Help Identifying 1/2 Drive Ratchet

If its useable, keep it. Next time somebody needs a ratchet, you have one they can borrow and it wont cost you a thing if it never finds its way back.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Water pump install on the 30 year old Evinrude 130. And now she's peeing good.😁 I took the boat out this morning to do a little fishing and caught the sunrise before all the other bass boats cluttered the water for spawn fishing.
