Is it possible that you were feeling air being sucked into the pit? Is the air coming from where ever the pump discharges to?

I can't see the picture or the video but if you have someone hold a shop rag over the tail pipe (or pipes) it makes it easier to find exhaust leaks.

The only long term solution I've ever seen for water intrusion in the basement is to fix the problem on the outside of the house. Gutters, sealed exterior foundation walls, drain tiles and grading.

That's how I did my shop in NY. Not only that the two halves were done something like six months apart. I used that expansion cuts as a seam and it worked just fine.

I haven't found the Snap-On quick release any less annoying than the other brands.
