    Vintage Craftsman Knife

I'm pretty sure the OP's knife is a BBQ knife, usually sold in a set with tongs and a fork.

    Have A Vintage Wilton Vise?

Hey Drives, it may be a trick of the light, but it looks like that big Reed is showing flash rust. Would that be the "before BLO" picture?

Install shop air hose & reel

I ran black iron up close to my Reelcraft, then ran a 150psig three foot whip hose between the black iron and reel.

    FRP Board?

Only your eye will be able to see if it looks stupid. I'm guessing that it will look practical.

    Missing Pennys????

When we moved into the current house, it had a concrete birdbath in the flowerbed behind the swimming pool. Since I like birds and since it gets very hot and dry here in north Texas in the summer, I would fill it with the hose every morning. When it got hot the algae grew really fast. If there...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I would be a lot happier with your electrolysis setup if it wasn't on a steel topped workbench. Safety first.

    Duker’s Barndominium

I hate to say this, but the instant I saw that you were going to use an on site shipping container for out of the weather storage, I knew you would be robbed. The piney woods of East Texas are full of outlaws that feel that stealing from "city folks" is a rightful redistribution of wealth. They...

Eastwood has at least three regulators that fit your criteria, including one included in a powder coating kit with a moisture filter, masking tape, and three empty powder bottles.

Pole Barn Build 40x80x16 - Ft Worth area

I have a 1200 sq.ft. "red steel" metal shop building in Mansfield, just SE of you. I have the typical fiberglass batt insulation in walls and ceiling, no vapor barrier. I do get condensation on the roof and have staining on the exposed ceiling insulation. I insulated the 9' and 16' doors with...

"Deep E TX" shop builder recommendations wanted

I'm guessing you are in the East Texas Piney Woods, so I would recommend adding some pitch to your roof to help shed the needles/leaves. I lived in Beaumont for twenty years and had to clean the gutters every three months.

Value of vintge Craftsman 8-point sockets ??

Seems like every oldish socket set I find lately has double square sockets in it. I boughr a lot of 300 Craftsman sockets from a farm estate sale in upstate New York that had a good twenty double squares in it, but nothing bigger than 3/4". I did a little research and found that you could buy a...

    Alloy Artifacts Collection

I haven't seen a thread on this so I thought I should bring it to the forum's attention. I stumbled across an auction on eBay where seller airbuff101 is selling what he says are vintage tools from the Alloy Artifacts collection: he has about a dozen auctions active right now and they all seem to...

Tar/tar paper removal from concrete floor?

After having thought about it for a while I came up with: call your local flooring store and have them send out a guy with his electric floor scraper with the fifty pound weight above the scraper blade to keep it down on the concrete. Might be better to wait until winter so the tar is colder and...

Contractor suggests mini splits, now I'm unsure

You have a 3" downspout on all four corners of the building, but they are plumbed into the soffits. Even with my fertile imagination I cannot come up with a guess about what is happening there. Explain please.

    Shelf/drawer liner wider than 18"?

Go to the rug department at WallyWorld and look for rug nonskid pads. Looks exactly like toolbox drawer lining and probably comes in taupe and wide widths

Need Recommendation for Veneer on Shelves

I agree with DalyArcher, use Bondo for this application. Just obey the Bondo rule: don't build it up over 1/8" or it will chip easily. Round the edges. Also, do not use latex on the shelves, it never really cures. Use enamel or something like the Sherwyn Williams cabinet paint.
