water water everywhere, pole building leaks

I'm in Puyallup. If dry, I'll hop up and snap some close ups on the roof. My daughter witnessed one of the crew slide off my roof as they were building it, rainy day. Luckily he just took the rest of the day off and was fine. Yikes. I'm sure they didn't use closure strips anywhere as I have...

water water everywhere, pole building leaks

A few months ago I had a drip coming from the ceiling in my 3 rd bay. I have standing seam metal roof. No exposed fasteners. I figured the Fir trees did me dirt and I was the victim of a Fir needle dam. So I made my way up on the roof, after it was dry. Cleaned up the area where the 2 roofs...

Lumber Liquidators and Formaldehyde on '60 Minutes'

Well my wife opened one box to air out and eventually take a reading. (once we get a tester) well she said the finish was not so good and it was warped. That solved that. Its all going back. Our local LL told her they would upgrade so maybe we will look at the US made choices they have. Her...

Lumber Liquidators and Formaldehyde on '60 Minutes'

My LL flooring sits and waits in my shop. Till we decide if we take it back, exchange it or? Looking at test kits. Thinking........ not jumping on board with the sky is falling crowd but still very concerned. 60 minutes, yeah they can be trusted! Ha! Worst part will be loading back up. Little...

Difference between Cut50 plasma cutter models?

"pilot arc cutter" Sounds convenient but is it worth the extra cost? (small I know) Just hate bells and whistles unless needed.

That's pretty cool! Curious what, if any, suspension mods will be done. As in spring rates, etc. (air bags?) You have a build thread on this?

Welding table 26 x 63 building 2 of them to act like sawhorses

Subscribed! I have an old Boeing surplus metal bench but its not too stout. Fine for basic workbench needs. I'll be making a small heavy duty table that will match work bench height but on some variation of castors. Fun thread  Inter West is pretty close to me but only open mornings on...

    Black & Decker Workmate

Not my first choice "welding on wooden topped" hence the "Been thinking about making a metal version." Maybe the HF table would be like the Work Mate, seeing it does little to inspire confidence, but using it you find its handy. I passed after seeing the HF welding table. I have a metal topped...

    Black & Decker Workmate

Just this fall I traded some labor for my Dads new in the box. WM. I thought it might just get in the way. Then I used it to hold some exhaust I was welding. Pretty handy. Been thinking about making a metal version. Redoing the original would be a snowball of modifications. I'm in no rush.

Pressure vessels while interesting and a good discussion to have. Maybe it should be on its own. Start a new thread for that subject? Mod is it possible to start a thread with that subject to clean this one up? If I'm off base, I apologize.

Welding with 'old' eyes---cheater lense, vs. safety glass with cheater

I almost hate welding anymore due to vision issues. If my boy was around enough I'd just have him do it all. :D Still messing around with things so I can someday weld beyond tack to tack. Yet to try cheater welding hood lens.

I am hoping for ideas on how I can go further than tack to tack. My issue is vision. I wear readers but think I need a helmet lamp? I lose the path and don't always stay on course because it tends to get blurry? Hope that make sense?

I need a concrete crack filler - for indoor use!

My bad. I thought I posted on the product I used. I'll see if I can find it online. Local hardware store. Have some left maybe tonight I will snap a pic. Good luck! Looks like a big crack, you will probably need a filler rod also.
