Between the River Hills & the River Bottom

Here’s a picture of our 4650. IIRC it has around 9,000 hours, but we’ve only owned it for last couple years.

Machinery value keeps rising. How many hours does this 4650 have? With your maintenance routines, I’ll bet you’ll get along well with that tractor.

Between the River Hills & the River Bottom

I don’t recall seeing this in your posts, does this mean a new addition to the farm? We added a 4650 a couple years ago as our tillage tractor and appreciate the extra power/weight over our 44.

Keeping track of equipment maintenance, a better way?

I started using a program called iLogger on my phone that another member on here was using. You can set it up however you like and add a lot of helpful information. YMMV, however I like the format and convenience from a phone/iPad. I can also see the benefit of a white board approach and have a...

Planning a Morton 30x40 build in Massachusetts

We have two large Morton buildings and highly recommend them. They’ve stood strong through weather and their warranty is as good as you’ll find.

    Scaffolding is it worth it?

I’ll recommend baker scaffolding. I purchased a couple 6’ sets of Metaltech from Menards for $150 each. They are useful around the house and work as storage shelf’s when not in use. I borrowed a larger scaffolding set during construction and rented when I resided the house. They’re nice to have...

    Nail gun recommendations

My 2 cents... I prefer Bostitch nail guns, however I think the advice above is good. Look for used name brand (Bostitch, Hitachi, etc.) or buy new from harbor freight to keep cost down.

Good luck on your sale. If I was a bit closer, I'd like to make the trip and attend, but my bank account probably wouldn't like it. Glad to see more recent updates on here, I always appreciate reading along. On the cattle interaction question... I thought I'd add our experiences with cattle...

    13th annual GJ Secret Santa!

I think several people order gifts which are shipped to them. Combine that with people being busy this time of year and it quickly pushes shipping later. Hopefully most of us receive our gifts on time, however 2020 continues to challenge us all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Above 1200 Sq/FT Out on Quaker Road

Thanks, we sure like the 50 series... started with a 4450, added a 4250 that continues to be our work horse year round, and most recently added a 4650 for a bit more power on the chisel & ripper. Have to give credit to my brother-in-law for keeping them clean. He washes and waxes them...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Out on Quaker Road

The bags are filled by pushing in silage (typically chopped hay or corn) or in this case shelled corn into the bag with an auger. As the bag fills it pushes the tractor ahead slowly. There’s a few different designs that control the speed. In the picture above the red implement behind the...
