Why spend 5x as much when it is available to the length and threads and stronger size he wants as well as flats for a wrench? I'd go with Mcmaster and have two parts in a day or two :)

Thanks all for positive comments. A few quick responses to questions- Spray gun types for bike frames? gravity feed "detail guns" are my preference. I have a Devilbiss EGA and a newer Sharpe Finex 1000. Sharpe refinishing guns are excellent and less $ than many pro guns. For tube frame...

    Honda CR125 frame restoration

Those subframes were always cracking... I attempted to find another sub frame- most were worse or broken entirely. Designed the gusset plate to bridge the stress areas and also for easy TIG welding with bend and a welding notch. Made it a simple 2 minute weld task for the welder. The trick to...

When to use 1/4" vs. 3/8" vs. 1/2" drives

For 1/4 drives I some what use 1/4" or M6 threads as a guide. A 1/2" drive can twist a m6 or smaller with ease. Above that typically start with a 3/8 drive. 3/8 is most versatile. Largest for my use is 1/2 drive for 7/16 or M12 and above. My mystery is why do 1/2 drives sets start at head...

    Stair Railing Height

We built a home ramp for a sprite 95 years young member of our church who was about 5 foot in height. At approval of the family and her we set the top of the railing to 34 inches vs 36-38" code. Better ergonomics and safer for her private use. All our Church ramps however have ADA/local code...

must be super high end or......

With .001 accuracy specked and not as good as a Mitutoyo or Starrett much less a number of Tesa calipers. LOL. Carrera is a name in suspension shocks and Porsche not micrometers.

    Bottle Jacks

We often used a small bottle jack which also had a top integrated acme screw for fine adjustments. Also useful...

    boat dock ladder

If you are using this at a boat dock even in fresh water you will have corrosion quickly occur. In salt water it will rust to nothing in half the time. Often boat docks have low level e-"voltage" from engines, etc which increases the potential for galvanic corrosion. I'd just purchase one...
