    Cutting a Table Top

Decisions, decisions, you might build a custom base on casters with brakes so you can move it out to use and out of the way when not in use. Almost a shame to cut it up.

    Wilton Vise History

Awesome thread, great people on here willing to help or guide you to someone that can help. My dealings with WMH on an older Wilton variable speed drill press, very nice drill press for a carpenter shop. Someone chucked in a spade bit for a portable drill into the drill press, long story short...

    Free garage?

Piece it apart and build back the garage you want. It will be work intensive but again it's free. Pull the nails out of the sheeting and reuse all that is salvageable. Is the siding color going to work with your existing color schemes? The trusses dictate building size, or sell them and get...

    Show Me Your Thermos

I've done the same thing, "Stolen from ________ _____" engraved into item in plain sight, haven't lost any of those items. Funny how once it's marked the legs drop off!

    Interior Walls, What to Use?

I think it's called hardboard, possibly tempered hardboard, sometimes called Masonite but that is actually a brand name. Dirty, dirty, dirty to cut. It does have it's places where it works great.

Rome wasn't built in a day!

You need a new yellow tip on that 38292 Craftsman Soft Face Hammer, put several of those together years ago. Going off memory on model number, early nineties when I left there.

    Industrial Metal Desks

I have a Steelcase at work, silvery green. Snagged a old metal desk chair too, not sure what brand it is. Squirrel cage fan out of a furnace sets off my carpenter crib fairly nice.

    Casters

Phenolic casters also work well on concrete. McMaster Carr has a vast selection of casters and step brakes that work well, if you anticipate moving your bench, work station very often, I would recommend spending a little extra on casters, you won't regret it, you might not even notice the...

    Help with Garage layout

I think the three foot deep bench top would be nice but you figure a 3' bench, couple feet to stand, sit at bench, leaves 19' to park that nice white Honda. most people will pull their car at least a foot or so into their garage, seems to me the Honda hood will become parts bench for "I'll just...

    Help with Garage layout

DJStorm100 10' ceiling will help if you decide to build high storage for seasonal items. You may also consider multi height work bench if you want to place tool box under bench. A taller bench will also get into your technical area of work comfort, that being 32" to 36" work benches are for...

    2014 Garage sale thread!

Someone I have gotten tools from on Freecycle before called and asked if I was interested in an old disk sander they wanted rid of. in the past, I'd been given a 50's craftsman bandsaw, a number of spools of band saw blades, and other tools. Delta 12 disc sander, on a delta stand. Exposed...

    Jack Identity

I have a floor jack that I picked up years ago, it is very well built IMO and I would like to repair it but I don't know what brand it is, if it's worth repairing or purchase a new jack. /Users/sydneyutter/Pictures/iPhoto...

    3 hour hot concrete poor

I understand that, but any driver worth his salt would start making calls back to the plant after an hour or so. He would have been better off dumping it in a pile somewhere than place it, tear it out and do it again. I'd sue in small claims court, easy win with documentation. No excuse for...
