Along the same idea that brianpgriset posted, if you drill a few 1/4" (or whatever size) holes so that their outside edge is even with the edge of your desired 2" hole they will give even more room to clear chips and the sharp edge the intersection creates will actually scrape the teeth clean...

Kinda along the same idea as dxdexter, but there are tools for this exact purpose called Blind-Hole Spotters. I know that McMaster Carr has them. I have no idea how to link to a specific item so to find them just enter 2238 (page number) in the find box. Hope it helps Tommy
