Easy way to tell if the garage door was left open?

IMO lift master makes a great system. Not only can you tell if the door is open but you can even close it using their smart phone app. You can retrofit almost any door with their system. www.liftmaster.com/for-homes/MyQ-Connected-Home

Do you use a service cart?

I have one I got from Sears back in the day. It came stocked with some cheap "Champion" brand tools. Its actually a handy little guy. Id say go for it.

You guys ever think about going the other direction with your garage?

No. Garages around here seem to be somewhat useless unless heated during the winter. (was 12* this morning and -4* tomorrow) If your going to put in insulation you pretty much need to cover it, once you cover it just as well finish the drywall, once you finish it you just as well paint it. Its a...

EZ-Set Torsion springs - DIY Install?

Springs could not be easier to set. Literally 2min with a cordless drill. As far as putting up that actual door there is nothing too difficult just basic assembly skills. Take your time and follow the instructions, no worries!

    Working in a cave

I was told when I ordered my doors that if I wanted to replace a solid panel with a window panel later on that I would be almost half the price of a new door. I ordered both my doors with double pane, insulated window panels. SMH...

    need a good motor

Well since you stared this... It should be "A 350 c.i.d engine." AND "unless you had AN all eclectic 1970 El Camino." but other and grammar Nazi's who would have noticed? :bounce:

    need a good motor

However, since budget was not mentioned he would be a lot better off with a new LS6 crate engine. Can be used for almost every application the traditional 350 can, but you will have all the latest advances in engine design and with just a few thousand dollars in tuning equipment/computers you...

    New garage door openers...

I have 2 8500's installed in mine. Best opener on the market IMO. I have had mine up for about 6 mos on a standard garage door with no helper springs and had none of the problems mentioned above.

Garage Door Opener Wiring--What is Right?

Thanks, I guess I could have just ran them against the drywall and it would have worked fine but by running them inside the track you cant see them when the door is closed so its a little neater. I guess my thinking is if I ever need to change wiring for some reason (new garage door opener or...

    Another Drywall Related Thread..

I would vote for this as well as its what I did in my garage, but that will not meet your requirement of "cheaper than drywall". Steel can get pricy. You can have it done fast, done cheap, done right. Please pick two of the three. :lol_hitti

    Another Drywall Related Thread..

I dont think your labor is going to change much. If you do plywood your are still going to have hang 4x8 sheets on the ceiling. (Renting a lift ect) You dont tape or mud with plywood but if that's what you like you could just do rock for a lot less per sheets and not tape it. Also have you ever...
