Where or what to mount huge vise on??

Sometimes I use railroad track 6x6' ties treated with creosote. There tough as hell and out lasted the first new driveway used as a border and part of a retaining wall 4 ties high. I'm sure they will outlast the second new driveway and many more. Unless the new owner decides to remove them I...

Where or what to mount huge vise on??

Heres my mess called a vice. Its raining outside so it looks like Ill have some time to peel off the ugly blue paint and car bondo. When the blue chips a lovely shade of brown bondo shows through in the new divot. Who the heck bondo's a vice? Lets see if I can make it look a little better. All...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Canadian 50x60x16 Hotrod Shop

Great finds! I knew I liked your thinking. I live a half mile away from an industrial complex I'm often dragging useful even valuable treasures home for repurposing.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Bob Heine's Auto Emporium

I live in Canada and at least half of my stuff was made in the USofA. I think my only complaint is when someone works on something and introduces one or the other systems and mismatches the entire system!

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Bob Heine's Auto Emporium

I knew I smelled a BB Chev somewhere around here :D. George Carlin said it best when saying. "We start out by buying a small house because we don't have much stuff. Eventually we have to move on to a bigger house, why is that?...because we have way too much stuff!" Nice layout, filled with a...

Modular Tool Boxes in the garage?

Those would be a step up for me. I'm currently using rubbermaid tubs for their convenience. They make it easier when on the go from my shop/ work areas to any finish work jobs I decide to take on. And when bringing tools in and out while we dont have a locking garage with this house. And I've...

    Flooring ideas and criticisms welcome.

I have to add a partition wall before laying the floor. My choice of materials are out side the box to say the least. I can visualize it finished and do think it will function well and not lack visual appeal. As long as it doesn't look over done and suits the main space alright. Brushed 1/16'th...

Where or what to mount huge vise on??

I temporarily bolted mine to a heavy piece of 3"x8"x16" stock. Its easy to use and put away as is. I'm restoring a work station, I'm going almost all out. I'm actually going to hit my vice with some flap wheels this week then give it a coat of clear Tremclad when I get time. I have plans to...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Dogs make great hiking companions. Often the best. Not only because they have been known to scare off the occasional bold bear and mountain lion.

LOL! At very first glance I thought he was upright 'giving a paw'.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Well done. There are some really nice (not to mention cute) garage pooches out there. At the moment I'm patiently on a steady look abouts for an additional Shop Dog. The dogs size or personality traits are no matter on this one. I'm interested in everything from pure bred Jack Russell to a big...

    A non-urgent question about paints…

I'm located in Port Credit, Ontario Canada. If I'm not mistaken there is a Tremclad plant only 30 minutes east of my local. But it isn't the first time accessibility became an extended delay. Re- Rustolium / Tremclad. Correct the first is the American brand name. Its a same ol' paint in a...

Should lawn tractor stop when letting go of gas pedal?

I went through enough of the cintrifical clutches in my go-kart's and mini's. We would wrap them times over. Spray a touch of belt dressing in there using the can contents straw, If you can gain an access point by popping off the cover. Its a bandage but it works when you need it.

    A non-urgent question about paints…

G'morning!, tool makers repair men and women, woodworkers, craftsmen and women and everybody else. Its okay you can relax, it isn't quite as urgent. But I'm sure I've seen the mini (25 qt.'s ?) of Tremclad rust paints in the "real orange" and "orange peel" rust paint somewhere. Memory is vague...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Well mine is not short on spirit, and she does love to eat. Can she drive? No but she barks at intruders and occasionally send one away ;).

Should lawn tractor stop when letting go of gas pedal?

I find that more than a few of the late models lack a little bit of get-up-and-go power.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Compliments on progress and work thus far. Do you have a ballpark power to weight estimate? She's :D \o/ I can tell when a dog has skills. I wish my dog would take over at the wheel on the long trips. Thanks, that's a funny one :)
