Older Rotary lift Need help identifying

Hey all, I won't get into all the details, but short story, I picked up this lift for a good price due to a buddy moving and needing it gone in a hurry. It's been fully rebuilt earlier this year and worked good when I saw it in action. So my first problem is, when he had it rebuilt, he said he...

    Pole Barn Concrete Specs

Casmurbax, The town doesn't require any permits or special conditions to pour the slab. He just suggests going at least 4", which I already planned on. On a side note, I know where Wilton is...I'm down in the Albany area. Lakeroadster, Lots of good reading material there...I guess what it all...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Paul_VR6's Cramped Double & Big Single Shop Thread

Re: Paul_VR6's Cramped Double "and" Big Single Shop Thread Nice to see the VW fans on this site. I visited your thread just because "VR6" was in the title. Lol. I've had so many different Corrado's over the years, along with dozens of other VW's....I always wanted a Brombeer Corrado...

    Polyiso Insulation

Also good info, Brent. I don't mind spending some money on insulation, so I'd consider spray foam but I don't want to directly spray it on the metal. I may have to rethink my plan for insulation...Or just focus on concrete for now.

    Polyiso Insulation

Interesting read, tatra....If it's true, I've never heard this. Makes me wonder if I should just wait and put XPS between the perlins instead. It's so confusing to read all this information. I feel like I get more confused what to use the more I read.

    Polyiso Insulation

I found some reclaimed 1.5" foil faced polyiso insulation for sale. Guy has 40 sheets for $450...looks to be in good shape. Few dings and dents, but looks good. He says it came from an office space he tore down. Assuming it hasn't absorbed any water, is this stuff still good if it's old? And...

    Pole Barn Concrete Specs

Load-wise I'm not worried about it, I just wasn't sure if I would have to insulate under that as well. Makes sense though what DoIt said... Thanks guys!

    Pole Barn Concrete Specs

Ok, another question.... I have a small 24"x16"x6" scissor lift I use for lifting my atv and motorcycles...I'm thinking it may be a good idea to form a spot in the concrete for an in-floor lift. What would I do with the insulation in that section?

Need suggestions for a low ceiling garage

We've used these at a few locations. They are truly meant for drop ceiling, but they work great for low height areas. Just fab a little bracket to hold them up...we also moved the control box mounted to the back and installed our own switches to control them. makes them literally 1" tall. They...

    Concrete Floor question

From my understanding, the stress cuts don't prevent cracking as much as they are there to control where the cracks can go. All my buddies in the concrete business, always suggest stress cutting the floor. Because it WILL crack. That's for sure.

    Pole Barn Concrete Specs

Ok, great! The info on the foam depth is very helpful. The pex portion I'm fairly comfortable with doing. I've done systems in my house and also helped do systems in friends houses. I don't have a specific lift in mind I've been looking for, but I've looked up several lift manufacturers specs...

    Pole Barn Concrete Specs

Hey GJ members, I've been absorbing as much info as I can from this site for my pole barn build. I have the structure up and mostly sheeted. Before the build, I had 2ft of clean aggregate put in, and set the posts in concrete...on a side note, one area I wish I had the knowledge of beforehand...

    Foam Board wall insulation

First time poster, but I'm looking to do the same thing with my pole barn. 30x40x12. My problem is when I put up the metal for the sides, I never put up any Tyvek or house wrap. My question is, will it be ok to put the foam board up anyways and seal it like Cobra did?
