Also good info, Brent. I don't mind spending some money on insulation, so I'd consider spray foam but I don't want to directly spray it on the metal. I may have to rethink my plan for insulation...Or just focus on concrete for now.

I found some reclaimed 1.5" foil faced polyiso insulation for sale. Guy has 40 sheets for $450...looks to be in good shape. Few dings and dents, but looks good. He says it came from an office space he tore down. Assuming it hasn't absorbed any water, is this stuff still good if it's old? And...

Ok, another question.... I have a small 24"x16"x6" scissor lift I use for lifting my atv and motorcycles...I'm thinking it may be a good idea to form a spot in the concrete for an in-floor lift. What would I do with the insulation in that section?

From my understanding, the stress cuts don't prevent cracking as much as they are there to control where the cracks can go. All my buddies in the concrete business, always suggest stress cutting the floor. Because it WILL crack. That's for sure.

Ok, great! The info on the foam depth is very helpful. The pex portion I'm fairly comfortable with doing. I've done systems in my house and also helped do systems in friends houses. I don't have a specific lift in mind I've been looking for, but I've looked up several lift manufacturers specs...

First time poster, but I'm looking to do the same thing with my pole barn. 30x40x12. My problem is when I put up the metal for the sides, I never put up any Tyvek or house wrap. My question is, will it be ok to put the foam board up anyways and seal it like Cobra did?
