picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Crook038, I used the same Crete Heat panels for the radiant install in my garage...definitely on a smaller scale though. I only have 4 loops. I'd be interested to see how your system works once you are up and running.

    Mr Bob's Garage

Been slow going lately...unfortunately, funds have been tight. I finally got to "use" the garage properly for some storage though! I hated seeing my caddy sit under a car cover in the weather. Nice part is I have it on rolling dollies so I can move it while I do work.

    Galvalume or white metal ceiling?

I want to do a metal ceiling in my garage. From the pictures I've seen, it looks really good. Only thing I can't decide on is if I want galvalume or white in color. I've heard a few people say the galvalume will eventually show rust spots and gets dull and dirty looking. But I also hear it...

    Polyiso between wall girts

Great build Drag! Almost exactly how I plan on doing everything in my place....I definitely should've put up tyvek before I sheeted it! Do you think it's ok to spray dense pack directly on the metal?

    Polyiso between wall girts

I too should have done the house wrap before I put up the panels. Unfortunately, I just never thought of it before I started. And yes, that was exactly my thought about spray foam. I want something between the foam and the panels.

    Polyiso between wall girts

Any reason you both went with XPS board over polyiso? Curious where you guys are located...I know it sells cheaper than foam board in upstate NY, so that concerns me. If it was so great, why would it be so much cheaper?

Radiant floor or infared tube heat or forced air??

Like derk said, you only have 1 shot to do the tubing. Even if you don't use it, it's there. I just did it in a 30x40 space. 1200ft of tubing, manifold, and some other bits cost me ~$500. Well worth the money just to have it there in case you ever change your mind....also can't hurt as a selling...

    Polyiso between wall girts

Hey GJ, So I'm starting to think about insulation for my pole barn and I'm a bit confused about the uses for polyiso board. First off, please correct me if this information is wrong, but from my searches on the internet, I've read a few articles that say polyiso will lose some r-value as the...

    Mr Bob's Garage

So earlier this Summer I bought a bike that needed some rebuilding...took some time to finish, but I told myself when I was done I'd enjoy it until Fall, sell it, and use the $ for the garage.

    My 30x40x12 progress

Almost the exact same setup that I went with...I almost didn't want to run the plumbing, but my brothers quickly changed my mind on that! It's almost the same time last year I started building mine! Where abouts are you located?

    Soldering tips

As others have said, a clean tip is very important. I use the brass balls that look like brillo pads... They actually say using wet sponges is not good for the tips because its a drastic temperature change and won't clean them as well. A few wipes along the brass pad and they tip will shine...

    Mr Bob's Garage

Thanks Cobbler! RC, Yeah, I hope so...I've never done radiant in concrete before. I hear it's great when you open bay doors. The recovery time is super fast!

    Mr Bob's Garage

So I got the idea I wanted a bathroom. It took some extra work, but I'm sure it'll be worth it...then I couldn't help myself and just kept thinking about having radiant heat. :rocker: And of course I left room for my lift...

    Mr Bob's Garage

Hey GJ, I'm a little late on doing a thread but I've been making great progress lately and figured I'd share... It's a 30x40x12 pole barn. My main plan was to have a lift...but as I built I had more ideas, which just adds more money. First pictures are from last year and earlier this...

Old 2 Post lift need help identifying

So I'm looking for some help identifying the make and model of this lift I acquired....my exhaustive internet searches have lead me to think it's a Weaver AFH90, but the base on mine is not the same. I originally thought it was a Rotary, but I've ruled that out. It's not the original color...

Older Rotary lift Need help identifying

Well, I was wrong...it's definitely not a Rotary lift. Checked Benwill, Grand...none look like this one either. Anyone here have an idea?
