    My new Proto/Facom ratchets

I know we have a "show your ratchets" thread, but I thought deserved a post of their own since they so rarely get mentioned. Made in Italy, lifetime warranty. You can also buy them branded as Mac, and Facom. The 3/8" is really the sweet spot with these. It's by far the most compact head I've...

    JIS screwdriver bits?

Any idea where I can find such a thing? There's plenty of screwdrivers around, but I'd rather just get a set of 1/4" drive bits. Some 5/16" bits for a hand impact driver would be nice too...

Picture comparison. Carlyle and Gearwrench ratchets

Both ratchets are 1/4" drive, both are made in Taiwan, both retail around $20. Although the Carlyle does seem to be the more expensive one by a few dollars. The Gearwrench is 84 teeth, the Carlyle is 60. Both are very smooth, but I will give the nudge to the Gearwrench for the tooth count...

Anybody have trouble with soft Knipex jaws?

So I just picked up a pair of Knipex combination pliers. Just from looking at them and fondling them, they really seem to ooze quality. I'm normally a Channellock lover, but I can admit these feel awfully nice. Until the first time I used them at least. I only grabbed them twice, once to pull...

Bahco 1/2" drive comfort grip, Dual 80 ratchet

Great condition, I got it in a trade but it doesn't look like it's ever been used. Just some minor wear from sitting around in a drawer it looks like. There's some flaws in the chrome around the head. They look like they came from the factory. Snapon owns Bahco, and these ratchets are...

Air impacts vs air ratchets? Do I need both?

So I've got a chance at a like new Earthquake 3/8 ratchet for cheap. Right now all I have is a 1/2 earthquake air impact and... I love it, but it's definitely too big (and powerful) for some tasks. I basically just want something for general use. Everything I don't want to use the big impact...

Any experience with Blackhawk box end wrenches?

Somebody posted up some made in USA Stanley box end wrenches, and that's got me searching... These look very similar, and quite nice... Anybody have a set? Any input on them? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008C0FRY4/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Any advice picking a stubby 3/8 flex?

So, I have a craftsman full polish stubby flex, and... Its one of my most used ratchets. I use it something like a speeder, its light and quick to handle. But.... I don't like it that much. I like to be able to keep my thumb on the ratchet head, and the quick release gets in the way on this...

Harborfreight's ratcheting wrenches , China or Tawian?

So I was just in HF yesterday picking up a 5 drawer tool cart, and noticed something about the ratcheting wrenches. This set http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-to...set-60592.html They had some branded Pittsburgh Pro made in Taiwan, and some just branded Pittsburgh that were made in China...

Are harborfreight's ratcheting wrenches China or Tawian?

So I was just in HF today picking up a 5 drawer tool cart, and noticed something about the ratcheting wrenches. This set http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/wrenches/5-pc-metric-flex-head-combination-ratcheting-wrench-set-60592.html They had some branded Pittsburgh Pro made in Taiwan, and...

Gearwrench vs the new Chinese Craftsman sockets. (Lots of Pictures**)

So I JUST picked these up today, and they haven't even touched a bolt yet. So this is strictly a fit and finish review. Time will tell how they hold up. These are s-AC Chinese Craftsmans, and the Gearwrench is from Taiwan. Personally, I'll give the edge to Craftsman, which I honestly wasn't...

Any such thing as a "double square" 8 point box end wrench?

This is by all means a want, more than a need... But, now and then I work on old wood or metal working machines, and they can use a fair amount of square fasteners. A set of 8 point double box end wrenches might come in handy now and then. So far though, my search has been fruitless.

Removing the color from harbor freight sockets.

Now I realize this thread could garner some criticism, BUT, I actually really like these sockets, but they were just starting to look like ****. So if anybody out there is wondering if the color finish can be stripped off of harborfreight color coded sockets.... YES, it can. I picked up a set...

Stanley combo wrenches? 14 piece satin finish

Anybody have this set? How do they compare to real Protos, or or they more along the lines of the standard poorly finished Chinese wrenches? All the way up to 1 1/4 for $60 sounds like it might be worth a try...

Dewalt and B&D 20v batteries compatible?

Anybody know if they are? Since the companies are related, and the batteries share the same MAX branding, it would only make sense if they did... I'd like to be able to buy the Dewalt drill/driver set, and be able to save some money on other less commonly used tools, like a cordless circular saw.

Tools stolen in NE Florida: Reward offered

A friend of mine asked me to post this. I really hope somebody can help out, he lost most of his tools due to some scumbag thief, and so far the police haven't been able to do much. My van was broken into in Fernandina Beach, FL around 9:30 PM on March 28. Everything has been reported to the...

    Can anybody identify this hammer?

I've had this hammer kicking around for ages. I found out what brand it was a long time ago, but I can't remember.... Anybody recognize, (what's left of) the logo?
