    I need a good mid-rise lift...are these good?

I have the Bend-Pak and think it is a wonderful lift. Portable (though if the floor has high spots it does bind a bit when rolling it), well built, and works quite well. There are about 4 mechanical safety stops, which in my mind is an important feature. I bought mine at asedeals.com

    Hose reel for water

I came across these sites that seem to offer decent reels at a reasonable price. They may not be Coxreels, but they are not upwards of $400 either. http://www.outdoordecor.com/product_detail.asp?item=WHR13130&esrc=webfrooa&GCID=C16953x005 http://www.myreels.com

    Garage organizing software

When you use cut-outs of tools, you should also include the "working space" required for those tools. As an example, consider a table saw. While the tool's footprint may be 3' x 5' or so, if you plan on ripping 4 x 8 shhets of plywood you need space for the infeed and outfeed. The same...

    Detailing My New Car Question

There are many things to know about maintaining your cars finish. All you ever wanted to know, and a lot of stuff you didn't want to know as well, can be found here . Briefly, do not use sponges!! Use high quality sheepskin wash mitts. Use a 2 bucket method of washing the car. Fill (2)...

    Does 20A + 20A= 40A?

I suppose I have some work to do to fix things up properly. When I moved into the house, all the pool wiring was in place. An electrician's sticker is on the inside of the box but I guess he didn't know what he was doing( then again neither do I, but I am not a professional getting paid to...

    Does 20A + 20A= 40A?

I realize this is a really basic question, but for the life of me I cannot find the answer. If I have 2 hot wires, each coming off a separate 20A single pole breaker, and run them to a 220V receptacle (with a ground of course), do I in fact have a 40A circuit? Logic tells me no, but I need...

    mid rise lifts

Here are a couple of options for using a mid-rise lift. Personally, I use the ramp method, but if I were able to, I'd certainly go for the in-ground. A friend of mine has a 11/2" lip around his in-ground setup and has 3/4" ply that he uses to cover things up when needed. This would offer...

    mid rise lifts

Well, that all depends on your car. I bought a Bend Pak MD 6XP and can drop engine and ****** with no problem. Lots of guys with 911's use these type of lifts. Then again, we have rear engine cars. For front and mid engine cars I can't see any way to work on a ******.

    School me on wiring

I thought I had read somewhere that code requires a burial depth of 24" for wire but if in conduit it is only 6". Is this true? If so, the cost of conduit is less than the "cost" to my back!! I'd go for the conduit.

Need new column for drill press

Thanks guys for the quick response. I will make some calls tomorrow if I get a chance. Ed- thanks for the craftsman suggestion. It turns out that I am a member since 2002 (i guess I either never got, or threw out the card so haven' used it and never got any notice of sales) though they were...

Need new column for drill press

I have an OLD craftsman drill press, bench top model. They just don't make them like this anymore. Problem is, the column had rusted quite a bit so I am now looking to buy a replacement. I guess I will first try some serious rust removal, but the column is pitted in spots so I don't know how...

    Off center door opener

Hi guys. First post for me here. I can't believe I came upon this site. Great stuff, and at a very opportune time. I was wondering the same thing. I have a 2-car garage door which is wood, and also has a cedar tongue and groove skin, making it pretty hefty. Currently there is a 1/2 hp...
