Using Harbor Freight 20% Coupon @ Home Depot

Glad I was able to help out in some small indirect way. I wish Lowes was as "giving" as many Home Depots seem to be. There are a handful of brand items that Lowes carries and Home Depot does not (e.g. Porter Cable) - in store, at least - that I am interested in. Oh well ... guess...

Using Harbor Freight 20% Coupon @ Home Depot

I'm both enjoying and encouraged by the various experiences - and success stories - being shared by so many as to this topic. Makes me want to give it a shot tomorrow at my local Home Depot. Unfortunately, I still need to save up for the item I am wanting ... even with a potential 20% discount...

Table Saw / Router Table Combo

Perhaps ... though - without having seen the actual construction plans) - I figured/thought the router table section looks more like a think sheet of MDF and/or melamine board with some kind of top-coat finish (for smoothness).

Using Harbor Freight 20% Coupon @ Home Depot

What were you able to get the HF 20% discount on at Home Depot? Again, seeing that the products would not be the same "brand," what did you say to Home Depot to convince them to give you the 20% discount using the HF coupon?

Using Harbor Freight 20% Coupon @ Home Depot

I remember seeing a discussion (in another DIY'er Community (I know, I know .. sacrilege) regarding taking advantage of Home Depot's "match any competitor" policy utilizing a Harbor Freight 20% Discount coupon .... but I cannot for the life of me find that discussion thread. :( Anyway, the...

    2x4 basics

ahhhhhh ... that's what you meant I thought, perhaps, you meant you "height matched" and "joined" the simpson-tie bench to another 2x4 basics bench (along your wall there). I got it now. :lol_hitti

    2x4 basics

If you get a spare moment, one day, to snap a pic of how the bench(es) are "joined together/height matched," I would love to see that.

    2x4 basics

As a literal newbie to the wonderful world of home-hobby/DIY level woodworking/workshop projects, I do not consider your comment to be "smart ***" at all. In fact, as part of my "due diligence" in trying to research/learn as much as I can leading up to my first projects, I remember reading...

    2x4 basics

Good Gawd, man ... Where do you live ?? :Freak: As Jeff mentioned previously, you should be able to utilize the lumber sizes you said they have. Personally, I am using 2x6s for the bottom shelf and benchtop - and 2x4s for the middle shelf. Honestly though, for all intents and purposes (and...

    2x4 basics

That sounds crazy that a lumber yard would not have 2x4s ... I mean, it seems to me that 2x4s are generally the most popular/widely utilized size boards for many projects. Do you not have any Home Depot/Lowes type stores within your area?

Jeff . . . THANK YOU !!!! The additional photos you posted totally clears everything up (for me, anyway) and shows me/us how you went about constructing your 2x4 Basics custom miter saw station. Now I'm even MORE totally excited about trying to incorporate this idea into my own...

    2x4 basics

Okay, so I began building my "ultimate" workbench this week - utilizing my 2x4 Basics Legs+Shelf Links Kit I purchased. My "vision" was to build a 4'x8' workbench - like I've seen in images such as the ones below . . . 4'x8' Workbench with shelves, using (1) 2x4basics Workbench Legs kit, &...

DIY Table Saw vs Ready-Made Table Saw ??

This question/thought is, I think, geared more for the Home/DIY'er much moreso than a professional/contractor ... so please keep this in mind as you read on. ;) I wanted to (hopefully) spark an informative/insightful discussion here as to the idea of creating/building a DIY custom table saw...
