What kind of tools have you found in the road??

I found a craftsman 10mm combo in my driveway a few years ago. I have one just like it and had to check to make sure I hadn’t found my own. Nope, got a matched pair now.

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

Sell it is my plan. My grill has more features than this one and is in much better condition though it is also a road find. I seem to find one every few year.

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

Yesterday’s road find after I pressure washed it. Grates are perfect and even the igniter works. Bad is they kept it in a pile of leaves which caused the casters to size and rusted out the inside/bottom panel. Oh and the thermometer is broken.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished my fan/air cleaner project. I’ve had it for like 4 years waiting patiently under my workbench. Only cost was about $14, 10 of which was the 5 position switch. Oh, and $6k for a new hvac system. Fan is super strong. Low speed isn’t really very low. If I built another, I would just...

    College Toolbox Setup

I built a tool box under my bed. i might have a picture i could scan but think 2x4 frame skinned with plywood. Plywood top was hinged and would tilt over to access the tools. Not effortless to get into, but it kept them secure and out of the way.

I bought a set of gauges 13 years ago when enclosing my carport. They work great but I love the creativity and thrift to diy your own. Well done.

    Electrical Connector Storage

I wanted some of those bins years ago but didn’t have the money to buy them. Then I learned about a nearby Home Depot that was relocating and since I worked for corporate, I knew nothing left the closing store. $800 later, I owned all of the hardware bins. I was thrilled, but then the guy in...

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

Found this yesterday. It’s got some road rash, Pittsburg brand and a very small bit for 1/2” drive. Disappointing but still a free tool.

    Show off your.... Carlyle Tools!!!

Got my order today. The hose clamp vises are solid, very nice. I recommend. The mini bolt cutters work well but are not near as good a fit and finish as the older versions from Taiwan. And the label says it came from that country we try to avoid.

    Show off your.... Carlyle Tools!!!

They usually don’t charge shipping for store pickup. Usually an item that requires shipping isn’t available for store pickup, only ship to home. I ordered over $35 to get the free shipping. I ordered both sizes of the hose clamp vise plus the mini bolt cutters. The smaller hose clamp vise is...

    Show off your.... Carlyle Tools!!!

I fondled several things from the new line earlier this week. No sockets or ratchets, but all were labeled Taiwan. I don’t have much Carlyle and am not loyal to any brand, but I didn’t care for the new stuff. I am going to keep an eye out for the Carlyle blue mini bolt cutters and crimpers.
